The bird changed direction (with surprising agility for a bird that size), heading off of the path and towards the Everfree Forest...

Terra headed off after the bird anyway, his goal was clear. With one strong thrust of his wings, he gained a little more ground on the bird, them both heading into the Everfree forest... Terra not knowing what lied ahead.

Knowing full well that that the brown pegasus was following him, the golden and scarlet bird decided to stay above the tree cover, a kindness to keep him from having to fly through the branches and and leaves on the untamed jungle.

The forest below was a terribly dangerous place, reeking with dangerous creatures such as Manticores, Cockatrices, and the dreaded Ursas.

The clearing would be a safe place. The Phoenix remembered that a green Earth pony had gone there a long time ago in search of food. Timberwolves wouldn't dare come near a flaming bird, and besides, there was something that he wanted to show the winged pony.

Terra soared on after the Phoenix. He slowly started to gain on the bird, but still keeping a respectable distance, as to not scare away the majestic creature, even though he knew the bird had already acknowledged the chase.

Finally, the bird landed on a tree in the clearing. Dark shadows and glowing yellow eyes lurked around the edges, but they kept their distance. Round blue eyes blinked from somewhere within the shadow, and an unusual albino pony stepped out from the shadow. )

The white pony lifted his hooves, and with a firm stomp and a burst of static, the yellow eyes scattered. The peculiar pony went close to the phoenix, holding out his hoof. The bird nuzzled him with his beak.
