@Doneyhew, because Minecraft is so prevalent in this community, and because the damn game has been out for 2 years now, it's been reduced to an honorable mention at best. We all know it, and god knows we all love it, it would be kind of stupid if it won the nomination.

Everybody should jump off the edge of the little platform at least once, if only to see just how endless the "endless sky" really is.

Against the Wall is a free indie game from an upstart developer who has just recently raised barely enough money to break their Kickstarter goal. It is also probably the single most unique game I have ever played. Imagine if the world was flat. Now, imagine that gravity still pulled down...

I just got Quake III, actually, the way they've structured the singleplayer is just absolutely excellent from a design perspective. I'm playing it on the 2nd highest difficulty (in which bots are just as lethal/hard to kill as you are, but don't cheat like they do on the highest difficulty)...
