Most people have WAY too high expectations right now. They constantly forget that Minecraft is in ALPHA.. not beta.. ALPHA. We're lucky he's even letting us buy it early and get all the updates for free. Plus he's moving into a new office where he can really collaborate with all the developers...

yeah that's true. Java can be iffy. But without java, we wouldn't have the in-browser client.. and I'm not sure about you guys, but that's what initially sold me on the game.

I'm on a quad core gaming somputer with 8 gigs of ram and 1 gig of video ram. I notice slowdowns the more stuff is on screen (even through walls). I'm pretty sure it's something in the coding for multiplayer (or server lag?)
