Also, if you're just starting to learn modeling, here's a pointer. If you are having trouble with the base look of say, a human, and you CBA to learn the proper anatomy and muscle structure; you can always cheat your way through the process. Example as follows...

I personally found Blender to be more confusing than ZBrush. But if you can learn Blender, you should be able to shorten the time you need to spend on the entire process since you can do everything in it.
