Me, as a person, I'm not good at voicing opinions or talking about certain topics without reaching a whole, broad, viewpoint of life in general. I like to be complete. So, if this gets a little out of hand, you have been warned.

As people come and people go, be it in life, in connections, in communities, or in death, we all make stupid decisions on how we've been to other people.

Recently, there have been many people leaving things; some in where I go everyday IRL, some in the role playing community I'm a part of, some here on Team9000. There's a lot of empty things left by the people who leave. Questions unanswered, harsh comments said, the longing of everyone being together again. The reality starts to sink in, and we ask ourselves, "What's happening to this place? Where did everyone go?"

For starters, I'll never leave this place. I practically grew up with it for the past year or so. I've become good friends with the people here, or at least I'd like to think so.

Over the past year, I've been invited, practically, into a community of fun, loving people. I've learned a lot from you guys and I thank you all for that. <3

Whether we play Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Terraria, Portal, Half Life, Borderlands or any other game, I want to be with the people I know and love. I could never give this place up, never will, most likely.

Now, we've been seeing a big fad lately. It's called Minecraft.
It's becoming the only thing the new members play.
( This is probably the face you're making right now while reading those last two sentences. )

Now, most of you are really pissed off by this. You go, "Damn all these new generation pieces of sh** and their stupidity."

How do we fix that?

I like to remind the new members, there are other games that exist other than Minecraft! We're not a Minecraft-only community. While Minecraft is an amazing game I'd recommend to anyone, I don't really want to play it all of the time just to get some interaction with you people. Games like Realm of the Mad God or Team Fortress 2 are games I'd like to play with new people, get to know them better! Help them as others helped me into Team9000.

With the old, cherished ones leaving, a new era of fresh minds (most with an IQ of 50, it seems, sadly) comes in. Most of them are-... well, kind of stupid. Luckily, though we have some new people that actually know how to rub two brain cells together and communicate well! Those are the people I like to help out in this place. People that have potential.

Why am I doing this? Because I want people to have the fun learning experience I've had as a person on this forum in the past year. I want to help them become better people in general.

TL;DR, While we have old members feeling ushered out by the new members and leaving, remember, we have some good potential in the new users (the smart ones, mind you) that are coming in! The end is not nigh. Also, don't leave, we need you. ;u;

Happy Hunger Games Browsing, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

<3,
~Taco

That's the spirit, Taco! Helping out new members can be rough, but it's usually the best for them and the community. Very awesome blog :D!
I too, will never leave because there's no reason to have to take such a unique place like Team 9000 out of your own life.

I wish I could share your optimism. I have been contemplating departing this community for several months now, and I only feel the end drawing nearer. There are other communities I've found that share my interested more thoroughly and let's be honest; I'm not really a gamer. I'll stick it out for a while longer, but I have a feeling I'll be leaving before the end of the year.

The optimism brought a smile to my face and told me that I'll stay in T9K for a long time :3

if it makes any of you feel any better. I will not be leaving, it has been over 2 years and I have never once grown tired of this place, the people I have met, and the games we have played. I also agree with you, the older members of this site should be open to new members joining and learning about what we are as a casual gaming community. I cannot presume to speak for the other tenured members of this community, but I am always available for questions about this community at any time. I am just one PM away.
