what does one do after he downloads Spritecraft?
full version? ok here:

the 'height' will immediately be set to 208... you can start wherever you want: just don't completely depend on other blocks as reference points, some of them may be 2 or 3 blocks off. The important thing is that we get the ponies correct :D

In the download there is no app i can click on to run Sprite Builder. Do I have to move the files into my minecraft.jar?

In the download I got 2 folders, one called com, and the other called META-INF. And everything inside those folders isn't "openable", they're just files.

ALERT:
I have been kind of lax on this but while we are still on our starting stages, I need everybody who is in this project to quickly post screenshots of the version of the spritebuilder, the options that they set, and the reference image that they are using.

Things to note:
1. I have made a mistake in my first post: Please set height to 255, it will change the height of the sprite, something that I have just noticed.
2. Make sure that the sprite options for dimensions that you put into Spritebuilder are 322 x 255, not 332 x 255, ten blocks makes a difference.
3. Even though the options that I have set in Spritebuilder show the max height to 255, THE PROGRAM WILL AUTOMATICALLY SET THE HEIGHT TO 208. Don't get confused about what is in the options, and what will show when Spritebuilder generates the image.

I would love to help! :)

If you want to see my previous work, just go to Zone16 and look at the ponies with "Serenity" next to them.

Let me know ASAP if I can join. ;)
