Woot just told me he did this so when you get a notification while your in chat you don't have to open up another team9000 on your own and exit chat to check it.

I still think that it should bring a pop-down alerts list and then when you click on an alert it will open in a new tab....but this is a good start.

I like the idea of the drop down like we had before.. Faster than having to open a new tab, especially for those with slow interwebs or computers and all
