We should have this pvp off and gone from the server i mean what does outlaw do? let you kill as many people you want? Do you understand that people could have diamonds and they get killed by a person while the people are trying to get to spawn? I do not like this idea. Nuff Said.

Exactly. People should stick to the issue at hand. And PVP itself isnt that bad Mario. I remember that many players requested it for a long time. It enhances the gaming expierence. If a player brings diamonds to the spawn he should at least be well-equipped and experienced enough to defend himself. We're dont talking about slaughtering newcomers. And defending doesnt mean bitching in the forums.

No, you wouldn't need any defensive skills if only the /fight off command worked, I can't even be sure that my pvp is off even when i never enabled it back on EVER. I think an issue about pvp being turned back on after relogging was mentioned in one of the threads.

I agree that PvP itself isn't a bad thing - people are making it a bad thing though. And if some people cannot handle it responsibly and go around killing those that are unaware, maybe removing or at least severely changing the system is the only option. Does anyone know what the admins' opinion about the issue is?

Notice that when you shoot arrows straight uP inthe air, they can come back to hit you. When attacking a mob, and shoot very fast, sometimes they can rebound and hit you if you are close enough. I've used them to successfully commit suicide a few times. Note that you can't hit yourself with a sword, but again with fire. It also may assume it's part of the environment, like the arrow of a skeleton. I think the game assumes that the arrow is part of the environment or was shot by the player itself. Also, you never actually told quanix that you had pvp off and there was a glitch, he was just attacking from a distance. You left him empty-handed in what to do.

I'm not sure how it went down exactly - but Quanix could possibly have been a little more sensible and realize that they did not defend themselves. But you're right - both sides probably have to take some of the blame for this whole thing.

Yes, I thought that as well, but if he was in the proper mindset, he could think they were talking about something else. This Kind of thread about killing happens all the time, I don't think they are actually breaking a rule. I would like to hear quanix's side of the story.

One aspect of the bug with arrows only occurs in wilderness. The part with residents being able to damage one another.

I don't see how raging about PvP helps this thread in any way - discussions about the usefulness of PvP are held elsewhere.

I guess so. Fire may not be considered an attack, as it can be a natural hazard - e.g. natural lava flows which create natural forest fires, etc.
Likewise, Skeletons fire arrows as a natural hazard, so maybe the game can't differenciate between what is natural or unnatural.

Personally, I don't live PvP. If it gives some people their kicks - good for them. People will always try and exploit the system, though.
If you are carrying Diamonds around with you, it's foolish not to wear armour, or not to have weapons. Not talking about players here, mobs too. But being a douche can't be excused.

I've seen quite a few threads around - ban requests - for people 'Flint 'n Steel'ing' people. I don't care who is in the wrong, but I've seen too many cases where the innocent party has retailiated. For example, Callum (Italay). Whether he is innocent or not, or if Quanix is innocent or not, they have both attacked each other and tryed to get revenge. If you are truly a victim, please, don't retaliate. Ask for a ban, or for an admin. Like you ask for a revert on Classic, rather than fixing your own build.

It would just be better if everyone just got on better.

honestly, well put. alot of grudges are being held in our sever, some may say there cuased by pvp but that doesnt matter even if it was, they are saying some stuff about there diamonds? they didnt have them they had just sold them, and may i say again i didnt even kill them, i spooked them, they fell under ice, they drowned. i have asked people on the server if anything was missing and i reunited them with a replacement.

A little late but Buffulo if you ever want to get rid of a mod you can just delete the BIN folder...... As thats where the mod is held.

Yes you guys are right, I was walking about, pvp off, and a fellow outlaw. I believe his name was rerevenger. He came to me sword swinging and he realized I had fight off. He switched to his bow and I thought nothing of it. Until he started to hit me with it, I can see how this would upset people becuase it wasn't right. Now that I and others know I ask you all plz do not abuse and I hope soon this will b fixed.
