banned for friendly scavenger hunt?

I am new to MC and I was banned for challenging the admins to a friendly scavenger hunt? :Z Well, I was just bored of maintaining my building from griefers and decided to make some fun... Any hope for an un ban?

EDIT: or are the server's down? They aren't showing up for me. Anyone else?

It was probably an accident... bans get handed out to guests like cotton candy \_(o_o)_/

Update: You completely weren't even banned - and the servers weren't down. Perhaps you just lost connect for a sec?
