Beta Creative Discussion / FAQ for Wooty.

So as 1.8 is just around the corner, up the bend, in the next room, the next step, the revolution we have been waiting for in minecraft. Wooty has said that there will be a Creative and a Survival beta servers. Here's what I am suggesting.

Since Wootalyzers plan for creative is almost like classic, and creative is basically classic in a nut shell, why don't we have a system based upon the same standards as Classic. I am talking about ranks, areas, zones for special projects or themes, and a more controllable community. Now I am wondering if this is already how Wooty is going to do this, just what would players who have played beta on team9000 for a long time get? Would they get special access to any areas, or would they be start like any guest?

I just have a few questions id like to be answered by Wooty so that others will know and we wont have a bunch of 1.8 FAQ threads.

1 Q. Will Beta Creative have a same basis as classic?

2 Q. Will there be ranking like in classic, and if so will those who have played for a long time get any special access?

3 Q. Will there be zones and protected ares for big special projects people have in mind?

4 Q. Any other ideas or plans for Beta creative you have that I have not named?

Sorry if I keep asking to many questions but I just like knowing stuff ahead of time. :p

I'm so excited for this! I can't actually connect to classic anymore, it doesn't load. But now... I'll have a similar experience, but will be more fun with more blocks and sexy smexy looks!

I am also looking forward to this, this week has been hectic as hell so I have not been able to get on mumble at all recently, but expect me to be online this weekend for these discussions.....that is the plan anyways.

I like the idea of a whitelist but the one problem I see is that it requires a lot more from the admin side of things for approving/adding people to said list. I'd be curious to see if Towny supports the creative environment once 1.8 is upon us. My idea was to maybe set it up so that by default people get something like 40 plots in which to build. If they need more, they can always form a town with other folks or perhaps request more from the admins. It'd require a lot less up-front administration and would still alleviate any worries of grief.
