Take a classic skill based RPG, then let it get butt raped by a FPS. Then the baby they have is raised by a hoarder, and you have Borderlands.

Shooting. Guns. Shooting. Loot. Shooting. Shooting. Guns. Loot. Bosses. Loot. Shooting. Guns. Guns.

It's an RPG/FPS with a focus on the FPS and looting. The main attraction to the game is the innumerable amount of weapons at your disposal, as the loot and weapons stats are mostly randomized on each play through. Also the co-op. I had some issues with the AI and general pace of the first Borderlands but have high hopes for it's squeal.

I too hope this ends up better than Diablo 3. I got tired after about 60 hours in. Loot just wasn't worth it. Neither was inferno.
