So here it is.
1. BE prepared to spend good money. This is just like every other purchase your going to make. you get what you pay for. So research everything and have cash in hand.
2. Get to know the breeder. Remember that animals tend to take after the people that own them so If the person who is breading is a dick, douche, ass hat, sucks the life from a room, lives in a complete shit neighborhood, has no room for the dogs to exercise, or the breeding area is a fucking stye CALL animal control if necessary and report them then go find someone else.
3. When you buy a dog REQUIRE breeding Papers of the pet your buying and AT LEAST two generations back INCLUDING ALL medical and treatment forms. If you buy a dog that has one parent or grandparent with a long list of history chances are that at some point your going to have an incident with your animal.
4. Remember that your dog needs 2-6 hours of play time that includes other people and animals to condition the it to sudden noises, movement and regular environment situations. Seriously if your a house fat ass don't get a breed of dog that was bread to hunt, track, or defend your just slowly killing it.
5. Got kids? TEACH your kids that Mr. snuggles isn't a plush toy to be squeezed, licked, slapped, hit, shoved around or bashed with toys. Respectively if your new dog is a puppy teach the dog the same thing about your kids and what not. If you don't take time to set boundaries where they belong your asking for trouble you don't need
6. SHIT HAPPENS. Relax. when it does take 5 minutes to fix it.
7. Animal abuse can be verbal and/or physical. Screaming at your dog is just going to freak it out. So chill.
8. Dogs respond to YOU and YOUR feelings voice and body language. If you fear something your dog is going to want to defend you from it. If your raging at something your dog is going want to attack it. School yourself on control.
