liquid cooling go with the lower end Corsair H series.. i think the H100 (the topmost) is like 100+. Also, CPU fan? Geeze, AMD CPUs come with the heatsink AND the fan. So you'd be set for that at least.

like clayto said, i'f go with 600+. maybe a 750 would do.
Also, if you are going to buy your friends PCU, I recommend making sure it is still under warranty for a long while and not only that, make sure it protects against power surges. and extra protection wont hurt ;)

fyi... a $1000 budget got me an i5 2500k(ran 4.8ghz oc without voltage tweaks stable) with antec liquid cooling, an ASROCK mobo, a 1000w raidmax modular psu, 16GB DDR3 1600, an EVGA 550ti and a 60gb SSD for about 800$ If you already have a case you can get intel and nvidia for under 1k. I coulda got the i7 2600k and a 560 or 570ti and still been within my budget. This was almost 6 months ago. also cases are pretty cheap... wtf am I thinking, you can get a decent case with a couple fans already in it for like $50
Did you look at my list?
