From 1998 to 2005 was when I watch cartoon network and back then it had some great shows. Toonami wiki. I remember also watching adult swim all the time with Cowboy Bebop, Fooly Cooly, Full metal Alchemist and Trigun.

I LOVED Toonami so much when I was younger! Wait...nevermind, I still do. Me and my dad/bros would watch Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Yu Hakusho everyday after school. It was a tradition! It's what defined my childhood pretty much. I watched almost everything on Cartoon Network (yes, even Hamtaro) and usually watched the anime that was on Adult Swim at night. The older AS was also better in my opinion, there was a lot more diversity in the programming and most of the humor was less grotesque (Superjail, anyone?). Blood+ was probably one of my favorite animes that was aired on AS, along with Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, and Fooly Cooly. Reminiscing on this really makes me want to go back in time just so I can experience watching these again...good times.
Anyway, here's some pics to catch your interest.

could never stomach a minute of it.
Why?
The voice acting was kind of terrible but honestly, this aired during the era of transitioning from toonami and ed,edd, eddy to the crap shows they air now.
It was probably one of the few last good shows that aired that was new.

Also, a nice comment I saw on that video that I really REALLY hope comes true.

the US had it's time. The 90s and early 2000's were full of amazing shows. Powerpuff Girls, Danny Phantom, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy, Samurai Jack, etc. But then in 2004, the 90s ended, and now we're just waiting for the generation to recycle. For the children of the 90s to start making cartoons of their own and capture that experience. For now, however, we must survive off the amazing cartoons produced in other countries.

The voice acting wasn't that terrible, but I felt the story was pretty original and each of the characters were interesting. Code Lyoko was one of the last shows I ever watched on Cartoon Network, now I want to watch it again!:p
Even now I'm not really sure if I should call it an anime or a cartoon...
