That is a great list. If it's what you want, get it. That PC will last for a few years.
Shadow doesn't know how to make a computer.

I can make you one for around $500
Lulwut........

1400$ Is pretty much how much its going to cost to make this beast. (1400 when you add the power supply of course)

what if the parts dont fit can i just return them?
If you are afraid of parts not fitting and you have some extra money, just go and buy a Full tower case instead of a mid tower.
A mid tower should be able to fit everything but if your'e having doubts its best to be safe and go full tower ^.^

If this is a gaming machine then i have a few suggestions.

-Drop the 16gb of RAM for 8gb. (16gb isn't utilized in games)
-Drop the i7 for an i5 3570k (No performance difference at all)
-Don't get an EcoGreen HDD (Slowwww)
-You could get a cheaper case of same quality but that's OK i guess.
-With money saved bump up to a 680 or get an SSD (Put your Windows install on the SSD for faster boot)

Now if this is more for video editing and stuff everything seems to be in order except for the HDD.

EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID.

Unless you are doing some kind of insane movie editing you really dont need an i7 processor. Sure it looks nice when people look at your specs but there really is not much of a performance difference when it comes to gaming.

And also like I said on mumble, If I were you I'd drop the 16 gb ram at 1600mhz and go for 8gb ram with 1866 mhz instead.

The case is fine (70$ is rather cheap for intense gaming cases)

And as littlespedve stated, with the saved up money you could perhaps upgrade to a 680 or perhaps a small size SSD drive.

And lastly, you don't need 2TB HDD. Im guessing that for that price that the speed is very slow. I would suggest buying a 1TB 7200RPM drive instead for around the same price (It might be a little higher in price, not sure havent looked at HDDs for a while)

Lastly, unless you are going to be overclocking your CPU a lot, drop the new CPU cooler; normally the one that comes stock with these CPUs do just fine if you dont overclock it to shit..

Back off to 8 GB RAM but keep the i7. Get an HDD for storage only and use an SSD for your OS and games. You will definitely see a difference. If you have the money, put two identical SSDs in a RAID 0 and there won't be much holding back your gaming rig.

Why keep the i7 Clayto? If he isn't video editing then he will see no difference whatsoever. It really isn't worth it at this point either to put all of your games on an SSD, at least not for the money. Although keep games like Skyrim and The Witcher on your SSD or whatever other game tickles your fancy.

And thanks Jns x3

  • Drop the i7, get an Ivy Bridge i5. Don't get a K chip, you won't need it.
  • Drop that Samsung HDD.
  • Get 1TB WD Green for long term storage.
  • Get 1TB WD Raptor for your games.
  • Get 64GB SSD for boot.
  • Upgrade 670 to 680.
  • Why are you getting an external DVD Writer?
  • The cooler is good, it last for 5 years, but I wouldn't use that for gaming.
  • Case is good. 600 series GTX cards are smaller than 500 series.
  • Drop the 7.1 surround card, your motherboard has 7.1 built in, and so does the 680.
  • Why such an expensive board? It's not even that nice. That board is a marketing gimmick. You could get so much more for that price.
  • Drop 16GB down to 8GB. Take it from someone who had 16GB. You don't need it. 6GB is more than enough as you will be using 5GB the most! With BF3 and FMLE running I was using 4.3GB out of 16GB.

Just my two cents.

Quick kinda-sorta off topic question:

Does a SSD even provide all that much speed increase? I've always looked at it like, I can get a higher capacity drive for a fraction of the cost of the SSD....
