Quick kinda-sorta off topic question:

Does a SSD even provide all that much speed increase? I've always looked at it like, I can get a higher capacity drive for a fraction of the cost of the SSD....

My two SSDs in Raid 0 gave me almost 1GB/s read/write speed. Where as mechanical give's 80MB/s write/read.

If you put 2 in RAID 0 you will never be the same. I mean, you get over 1Gb per sec write speed. Thats pretty god damn insane. Its WAY worth it. Trust me.

Just remember not to put anything on that RAID 0 that isn't replaceable. If one of those drives fail you lose all your data. If you do use it for storage back it up to something else periodically.

If you play games on PC than you will notice an increase in load times. But you won't however see an increase of performance/fps nor will there be. You could just put your Windows install on it and increase boot times and in some cases, loading speeds. I myself haven't bothered to get an SSD, mostly because both of the bays on my ASUS laptop have 750gb HDD's in them and losing 750gb would be unbearable (At least for me it would be, with all of my .iso movies and assortment of games and music). Give it some thought, if you have a little extra money lying around go for it.
