Eagle Pass was the first planned city on the Team9000 Beta server. It was managed by the [[Cydonian Empire]]. The council assigning the lots in Eagle Pass was formed of 3 people: HawkeTech, ThaProfessor and Zakkon.
As of July 9th 2011, it has been wiped, with the rest of the Team 9000 Beta Server
Rules
If you want to build in the City of Eagle Pass, keep in mind the following guidelines:
# Obviously, there shall be no griefing or stealing allowed. Also, all chat should be kept tasteful and polite, and any disputes should be brought before the Cydonian Empire.
Becoming Whitelisted on Eagle Pass
Before you can build on Eagle Pass you need to be added to the World Whitelist. Until you are Whitelisted you cannot interact with the world in any meaningful way.
The process for Whitelisting is carried out on the Team9000 Forum [http://www.team9000.net/forums/eagle-pass-reviewers-kilmannan-rev80.26/ on the appropriate thread here]
To apply for Whitelist you must submit the following informaton:
#Minecraft Username<br />
#Experience on our classic server (if any)<br />
#Why you would be a good candidate for our survival community<br />
#Have you read the details and rules yet?<br />
# Have you joined the survival server at least once? (You need to be in the database so we can promote you!) <br />
Also due to the nature of Classic and Survival it's important that people are able to adjust to the Survival environment and more importantly, to the requirements of any specific Survival world such as themes, build limitations, etc.
#Take a walk around Eagle Pass. Get a feel for it. Understand its theme and style and more importantly, its limitations
#Go to a world where you have build rights or Classic and build a simple example of something you feel is suitable to the Eagle Pass theme
#Take screenshots and post these with your Application
If you are able to complete the above steps it proves to us that you have a degree of commitment which would make you a valued member of the Eagle Pass society.
The one final step you must carry out is that:
#After you have taken your screenshots and you're happy with them, you must then destroy the build unless you intend to use it
This prevents congestion of other worlds.
Claiming a Lot
# If you wish to build in the Inner City (inside the Ring minecart track) you will have to reserve a plot of land. The plots are roughly 16x16 (or 256 square blocks) and are handed out by the Cydonian Empire. If no minister is online, place a sign with the request at your chosen lot and wait for a direct confirmation or check later for a confirming sign from one of the ministers. Lots of irregular shape are allowed as long as they enter the size limit of 256 square blocks.
# Each person receives a single lot. 2 persons can get 2 adjacent lots as a whole house if they want.
# No separate commercial(shops, bars) lots are allowed, unless they are a part of your house (first floor store+ second floor house for example). Please request permissions for a separate lot for a store from a minister.
# Building in the outer Districts is a little bit less restrictive. Plots of land are allowed to be reserved up to a maximum total area of 400 blocks (20x20 in a square) for free, and additional plots of land may be purchased from the Empire for a charge at a price of 1 diamond for every 100 additional blocks. The amount is rounded up, with slight leniency (an extra 110 blocks will only be one diamond, but 120 will be two). Lots in the outer districts are not preset, so you can choose your own spot of building, as long as it does not leave unusable small plots of land between your land and the avenues/other lots. Building next to streets/avenues is recommended.
#No building on water, buildings that have more than 30% of their lot on water may be deleted.
Building Theme and Limits
# The Inner City will be a more tight district, so building townhouses, shops+upper apartments and wall-to-wall buildings is very welcome. As an example of builds we would want to see, check Paris or Florence.
# Please limit the height of your buildings to within 25 blocks of the ground level, and minimize the amount of terraforming you do. The overall theme of the city is European, if you wish to build outside of the general architecture of the city (stone+cobble+plank walls, log roofs), please keep it tasteful. The only buildings absolutely forbidden involve over 85% cobblestone (any one type of block) facades.
# Ground-level and roof farms, trees on roof, tree-houses are not allowed.
# Requests for a special(higher) build or a separate commercial building are addressed directly to the Cydonian Empire.
# Although we give space and height limits, we highly DO NOT recommend trying to fill up every block of a lot (like 16x16 block houses), especially when talking about HEIGHT. The height limit is for the more extreme cases, like a 5 story townhouse, and not an additional tower. We will be less lenient with rule deviation when we examine 25 block high towers and cubic boxes.
Long Absences and Breaking the Rules
# All lots that do not follow the guidelines presented here are subject of demolition, unless the owner changes or removes the issue in question.
# If you are planning to leave and return to build later, build a fence or wall on the border block of your property and place a sign with your name.
# If you cannot return for more than 7 days, notify a Minister of the Cydonian Empire. They will ensure that your land is not given away to someone else.
# If you do NOT notify a Minister and there is no noticeable progress on your building within 7 days, you will be sent a notice on the forums. From the date that is sent, you will have 3 days to either begin building or notify a Minister of the reason for your absence. If you do not respond within those 3 days, your plot of land will be put back on the market.
# A record is kept of all plots of land handed out. If you attempt to forge a false sign, your building permit will be revoked and any builds in the city will be destroyed.
