EPIC PROJECT UNDERWAY

So, I'm about to begin working on a project that can only be described as EPIC. Anything you thought was epic before probably pales in comparison to this. It will utilize 1,296,000 blocks, and probably take me several months to get all the materials together. So if you see me online, chances are I'll be working on that. The project will remain secret until I am ready to begin building.

As I collect the materials and work my way towards the start of my construction, I'll post what I've collected and what I'm working on next. If you are in a generous mood, feel free to contribute some of the item I'm currently collecting; I'll make a note of your name and include you in my list of contributors. The first few items may seem small; I'll be working my way from the smallest number of required blocks to the largest.

On a similar note, if you feel like being a part of the biggest Survival Creation in MineCraft history....let me know. You'll receive a copy of the full list of materials necessary, and the final blueprint.

When I begin construction, I'll start taking a video. I'll edit and release it when I'm done, just cause I can.

And yes, this entire project will done without inventory hacks.

EDIT: After the wipe of OxyTown, I'm basically starting over. Good thing I hadn't really gotten started yet, eh? I'll be rebuilding my house (The Bunker) first, bigger and better; then I'll re-dig the Storehouse (the cave for the storage chests). After that's complete, I'll start on acquiring the chests again.

Preparation Stage:
The Bunker (top secret underground obsidian-lined living space): 100%
The Storehouse (top secret underground storage area): 100%
Perimeter Fence (to prevent accidental grief): 100%
Warning Signs (ditto): 25/25

I'm going to start by inquiring if you are crazy.

Okay now that we've settled that point, where are you going to
1. place 750 chests for all the items (bearing in mind they need a free space above them and double chests can't be placed directly next to each other)
2. build this monstrosity? Are you having woot create a new world for your build? Oxytown is too small and build it in the outlands and it will be destroyed within a week :confused:

100 large chests per level on 4 levels (last level will only have 75, a total of 375 large chests) in a special cavern I'm carving out in Oxytown. When it comes time to build, I'll transport all the chests and items to the build site. Should take me about 8 hours to get them all out there if I work solid, and another 8-10 hours to clear the land.

The build will be in the Outlands. If Wooty so chooses to grant me a special world, so be it. The problem with that is the world would need to be a LOT bigger than either of the current city worlds. I don't mind if it's erased inside of a week. So long as I can finish it, and take screens, I'll be happy. My builds are made for that sense of accomplishment, and the memories of the build. NOT the showing-off. Though I'm pretty sure someone up high will be impressed enough to save it somewhere.

Anyway, I plan on building way the hell out in the middle of nowhere, on the opposite side of OxyTown from spawn, to deter griefers.

The only way to actually appreciate the build will be from the map view, since even with flyhacks the edges will be outside of render distance.

I am most curious what this build may entail...It's either something being designed to scale (1:1), or it's a massive multiplex of structures. I suppose that's an obvious assumption, really, but I had to get it out there. I'm thinking this is more along the lines of one huge thing, rather than a city of some sort. good luck to you and your insanity.
