For the record, source of this info is the book Hungry Planet.

That really is interesting, I'd think America would have the most expensive diet - I guess the "relatively" cheap fast food brings down the price a bit. I wish I had some source for legit fruit near my dorm... the last time I saw a real grapefruit was when I took the 3 mile walk to the grocery store :(
