Goodbye I guess...

If that was the reason, I think that you would have been warned multiple times before being banned. If you were not, I agree that you should be given another chance now that you have been made aware of your actions.

On classic, bans are never given for trolling without sufficient warnings and kicks first. I think that survival should work in a similar fasion, but lets wait to hear what Wooty has to say about it.

Wooty: *wait, wtf? I never meant to unban clayto...*

*bans clayto*

Now that i'm done trolling, I would love to hear the reason for your ban. Sometimes people, maybe even Wooty, get caught up in the moment and ban someone for far less than what may be appropriate. Maybe he will realize this by typing the reason into this thread. As other have already said, however, do not abandon t9k after a single set back. We all make mistakes. If you battle through this and regain the trust of Wooty and friends, You will be back and having the time of your life with the people you like the most here on t9k!

Best luck to you mate!

Well to his defense I had been a pain in the ass leading up to that... Kinda like this guy. If he really likes the server and heeds my advice he will more than likely get unbanned. He seems to have some friends backing him.

I originally posted this thread in the ban appeals forum. It was moved here. I don't get the feeling Wooty has any intention of reversing his decision.

So I've been banned from survival. Awesome. I admit I was pretty upset after hearing that someone I've played with ever since I started on survival on the test server wouldn't be coming back again due to having his inventory deleted. I could have understood a warning, or some sort of communication short of a complete ban from the server.

Goodbye to those I've played with during test.

Well it seems to me that you didn't really go about writing it like a ban appeal...

There are so many griefers and trolls on survival, and one of the most positive, helpful members gets banned for being "condescending". That just isn't fair; Wooty should have given a warning at the very least.

I actually moved it so that it would be visible on the homepage. I noticed you had posted in the ban appeal forum, but that forum is hidden from the "latest posts" list (which most people look at).

You obviously aren't aware of his past actions.... Condescending is a "polite" way of saying what he has done...lets put it that way.

So am I to understand that this is a personal ban and not a regulations ban?
Causing unhappiness is a bannable offense. Any event that causes another user to become angry or unhappy (in a non-competitive sense) is not allowed. You may consider this to be a very broad rule, but it helps us to cover any ban cases not specifically listed. Team9000 is not a place for trolls, griefers, or people of an annoying nature, and we will remove any person causing unhappiness -- even if they do not explicitly disobey the above rules.

You obviously haven't been on survival before the wipe, having to wade through flaming swastikas and the ruins of weeks of hard work while being taunted by those responsible for their demise. You obviously haven't been given a secret safe haven from said mega-griefing that was left without grief or thievery for weeks, right up until the wipe. I am very aware of SvenBoogie's attitude problem, and with that being said I still think, without any doubt, that we are worse off without him.

Yes, I have, and when I was on I was met to someone acting as if they ran the temp map and I have little to no care for temp maps, considering I have been through at least 10 maps with Team9000 going back to alpha. Nobody really cares what you do on those maps because they usually become history, the attitude though that you have during a temp map, that "will" carry on to a permanent map, and if that attitude is a such a bad one that someone is banned for it, then I don't think he deserves to be on the server.

I think Sven pretty much did run the temp map! He was there pretty much all the time, and as StTheo said he provided a safe haven from griefers for those of us who were fortunate enough to be his friends, and I thank him for that, and Tsysin for all his work in that area too! Of course, he didn't really run it, so he couldn't do anything about griefers, but I don't think anyone else did either :(

But yeah, I suspect that for woot, dealing with all the server issues, which I doubt are his fault, is as much fun as any of us have when we get some software that doesn't work as described - at least it annoys me greatly when I'm stuck trying to get stuff like that to work, so I don't envy him his job! So I guess complaining about the situation a lot would certainly fit into the definition of causing him "grief"!

I wish Sven could come back though!

Here's my two cents.......for what its worth....

Did Sven annoy people with his commentary - Some yes (obviously Woot)

For those active players during beta who played along side of him, did he contribute to the good of the community (Hell Yes, not just YES)

For those more active players on the older survival series and creative worlds who have 'been waiting for a real server before they play', the last several months the active 'Beta' players were forced to ban together to overcome adversity.

We the players were devoting our time to a server that had no moderation, no protection, no where we could go to help....This forced us to ban together, working together to trust and protect each other. Safe havens were created in various towns where we cooperatively worked together...In several of these locations Sven was a VERY active member. During this time we saw griefing run unchecked, trolling unchecked, hours and hours of our work destroyed by a simple flint & steel or lava bucket... We did become cynical and jaded, There was no where to turn to for help except each other. I know I also have personally lost my temper when I could not find any assistance as griefer burned a whole town that was created from scratch to nothing...... laughing at me while he did it.

We all lose our tempers and say things we don't really mean to, to this end; I would say that well Sven may have upset us with comments, but I think that may need to be overlooked as he has always been a solid member of the community to the beta players.... My fellow players may have additional thought but I ask that it be limited to the players that have played with us.

@RSMV2YOU please don't take offense but I'm going to call you out...during beta on the 1.8 and 1.9 PR1-6 you may have been logged on here a total of five minutes...Your previous comments should be stricken as I don't honestly think you've spent enough time to make more than a first impression judgement

People reading this thread, I would ask that you take all of this in consideration, and ONLY if you have played along side with Sven you post your thought....Good or Bad

You know, a lot of the guys who are frustrated right now never got to see the best of the t9k survival server. Back when it was heavily regulated and moderated.

Personally I jumped in a month or two before oxytown. Some of you guys remember the firethorn wipe when everyone started completely over. Groups like the MCC, CE, OoO eventually formed and T9K really pulled together as a community. RSMV you were right there for all of this too...

What I see now is minecraft going through a development state in which bukkit couldn't and wouldn't keep up with. The advice given to t9kers was to stick it out until the next bukkit version came out. What I see here is a bunch of guys that really stuck it out and never got to see the best of the t9k survival server and what its potential is.

I vote for giving sven a chance as long as he apologizes or something. I think now that one of the final, manageable versions are out that the server at least has the chance of turning around.
