I hope you all realize that the shutdown of megavideos has not slipped by without resistance. Anonymous hit back HARD today and has taken out 4+ government sites with DDos attacks.

I believe it was during the gaddafi and libyan uprising where a few days before they captured and killed gaddafi, news leaked out that the FBI had tortured 3 leaders of the libyan fighters a few months before.

Saw it on Sxephil when he would usually make a quick update and comment on the libyan crisis.

They probably wouldn't have gotten shut down if they would have somewhat complied. Now there are probably going to be a bunch of lawsuits...

I love how people think anonymous actually does these things. It's really just a group of hackers taking the persona and public image of Anonymous to use as a scapegoat.

I love how crane thinks he knows something about anonymous. Apparently he is the only one. Enlighten us more please.

Luckily you can still use it. The site is back up and running just 5 hours later under a new domain name. megavideo.bz

I'm tired of people painting them as freedom fighters... I don't need to tell you that they're mostly a bunch of 14 year old kids downloading porn in their parent's rec room.

We don't even know who anonymous really is, because that's where they get their namesake. Maybe they are a bunch of different groups that consider themselves the original Anonymous, maybe they are just random people all over the world that decide to come under one name. I doubt 14 year olds would have the skill to carry out a DDOS attack on fbi.gov or those other websites, but for all we know, it could be that Anonymous is simply taking credit for something they did not do.

The great thing about a DDOS attack is that you really only need a few people to actually know what's going on. You just need a lot of peons that are willing to stick out their necks for you.
