Guild Wars 2: It just can't come any sooner

First of all OH GOD THIS GAME IS SO AWESOME!!!
I'm personally pumped and hiped about this very artistic and righteous title.
Most of it's perks and features respond to one curious question: How can you make an MMORPG work better?
The folks at ArenaNet think it's by removing conventional gameplay standards like grinding and the holy "trinity" (the tank-healer-dps model) can you go further in this a bit stagnant genre.
See more of their chatter about changing the MMO scene in this video:

One of the main things that sold it to me is it's no-subscription-fee policy, and the absolutely GORGEOUS artistic style. Not to mention all the cool stuff they offer such as Server vs Server PVP, dynamic quests and a straight leveling curve.

I've heard a lot of buzz about it, but have yet to really delve into what the game offers...will be interesting to see how it turns out.

They're pushing a lot of stuff other MMO developers don't really delve into, such as the pay for the box then play free and some changes to the way quests and classes are balanced. Guild wars 1 was kinda famous for going against the WoW feel. I mean they even have a PVP-centered mode where you automatically get all the levels and the gear in the game.

I have been planning on getting this for a while now. The way it differs from the WoW makes me love it.

the notion about the leveling curve really got me interested in this, that has always been the problem for me, being too lazy to spend hours upon hours just to receive few levels, plus I've heard a lot of positive feedback about guildwars, maybe its my time to join the herd... :D

I too am excited for this game, it looks like more fun since you don't have to grind and it's more visual in questing. Still don't know what class i'd play in it(toss up between an engineer, warrior, guardian or necro). But yeah when it comes out and if they have a guild system(they should it would be stupid not to) we should make a T9K guild or a Cydonia guild.

Hmm what is this straight leveling curve? Getting to the highest level in 2 months is boring, you never have enough to do to make it fun at that point.

I don't know what class yet either but I'm definitely going to be Charr.
How could Guild Wars not have guilds? ._.

Guild Wars 1 wasn't about leveling either, it had a level cap of 20 which you hit pretty quick, it was more to it then that.

I've played GW1 and I can tell the graph is completely wrong.

Anyways GW was an amazing game at its time but everyone there just hunts for vanity items now and PVP users abuse online guides...
The game was funner when I was a newb.

And why I quit when I got to 20. Nothing else interested me, I don't care for pvp

Been waiting for this since factions..... Needless to say, I am rather pumped up about this game. The question is...... to be a mesmer, or to be an engineer? or guardian... dammit, I can't decide! =/

I just saw the mesmer today, now I am destined to be a mesmer. Before I saw that the engineer was my favorite so that's a good choice too.

Yar... I know this is reviving a somewhat dead thread, but they've released the launch date. Looks like it'll be launching August 28th this year, with the last beta event happening July 20-22. I hope that those of you who are looking forward to the game are ready. :p

Best reason for revival! Just found out couple of hours ago, finally!
