$561.38. A bit over $600 after tax and shipping though and he'll need something to download the Win 8 Upgrade with and burn to DVD.

Is anyone here able to get something better put together? I kind of rushed through this. I think I did okay for a $600 build. But I really know nothing about the Pentium and mobo combo. It was the best I could find for the price. He also said he might opt out of a disc drive (don't ask me why, I have no clue).

7770, replace that with a 450, 550, 650. AMD video cards perform WAY lower than the standard they are set at.

That bundle for the pentium and the Mobo, you cannot fit a graphics card on a micro ATX board. Not only that, but that pentium will be a bottleneck for a nice gpu like a X50 or above.

Also, dish out another 10$ and get a case that air can actually get into. Wait, scratch that, so much air will get into that case because it will fall apart.

I love Windows 8. Best OS I have used that isn't Linux to be honest. I don't see why everyone's been hating on it. Faster version of Windows 7 with a new Start Screen that is avoidable if you get Start8 or something.

Get your friend's consent before committing to possibly the Appliest version of Windows out there.

^This. Also, on the hard drive, look around a bit for one double the size. Some searching will probably get you twice the storage for $5 more

Not true at all. 7770 beats all those cards.

I found a hierarchy table of most graphics cards out there on tom's hardware earlier. I'll edit in the link as soon as I find it.

Edit: Here it is.

You mis-interpreted that chart.

Those are increases relative to a GT 640 on Low Settings in 1080 resolution. The 7770 didn't beat all those, it was just the best performer vs a GT 640.

the 7770 is 181% better than a GT 640
a GTX 550 Ti is 157% better than a GT 640

so on and so forth.

Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, my preference is ASRock high end motherboards. My last one was great, solid, and sexy.

Edit: Giggity.

Keep in mind that some things may not work perfectly when you first build the computer. I had to mess around with BIOS settings for a week before everything worked correctly. Also, If you go with a 550 Ti as I did, keep in mind that you'll have to change a few boot options for Ubuntu to work.

I'm supposing AMD cards are much slower than they are advertised. Why? My 6950's were advertised as to be as fast as 670 ti's. Well not even both of them in an Xfire, (I set up my computer perfectly working fine) and it is outperformed by a a single 660, or SLI 650s.

I love the Sabertooth. I recently got it because a power surge fried my old regular Asus mobo. I could feel the quality like no other when I unpackaged that monster motherboard.
