I wish For a Tekkit Server

Also, "the free flight with the RIng, the machine that culd be made, the electricity that culd be used , the Destruction with nukes ." Imagine all the grief that this would allow. If Woot would want to do something about this, he would probably have to sit at his computer, spending hours and hours of his time coding anti-griefing strings, which would then have to be tested and fixed. He also probably has to set limits on blocks, as I don't think he would want anyone to have the ability to use a catalyzer or whatever it's called that you can mine a 3x[enter absurd number here] hole. So many different aspects of the mod that wouldn't be safe in the hands of the normal population of T9K (I can imagine some of the trusted players might have permissions to use these, but that would make Woot's job even harder.
"just like vanilla U can PLAY WITH OTHERS" YES! So, it's like playing Vanilla, except we make Woot's resources disappear AND waste some RAM... AT THE SAME TIME?! That's a great deal. And with this: "Tekkit is a mod of all vanilla included basically tekkit has all + its new items drops and new ores so u get to play ur vanilla + extra", if you think about it, Vanilla is basically Classic with a bunch more stuff, right? Yet, look at and compare the populations of the Classic and Survival servers. There is a hugantic differnce. More than a hundred players on the Classic server, around the clock. Only 20-40 players on the Survival server, MAX. Now, I know that you might say, "moar pplz play clasic bcuz not muhc poeple can afords teh monie". True. That probably says that most of the players on the Survival server are well-known individuals in the Team9000 community, and they can build projects with their long-known buddies without the interference of any random Guests. This. You can argue that you can do this with "u can do this w/ tekit". The bad thing is, just the Survival server alone, half the Classic regulars aren't included. Maybe even more. Because either they don't want to play survival, or they can't afford it. Now, you need to download the Tekkit client to play on a Tekkit server. A small minority of the players don't know how to download mods. And with the rest that do, there are some that are paranoid of the government tracking them, thus never downloading anything that isn't official. Tekkit isn't. That cuts down even more people. You're suggesting a server that ignores more than 75% of the Team9000 regulars! Why would Woot do that?

not being rude saying it respectfully" You are being rude by automatically assuming that a minecraft community consists of a majority of kids. You obviously haven't been around any of the moderators/admins. Coming in, knocking on the door, and accusing a whole community to be "just children" with such horrible grammar boggles my mind. I apologize to everyone in advance if none of this is true and/or even needed, and I know this is supposed to be a thread "to discuss over this", but I think this text wall was necessary.

as for mods if woot wuld raise his single hair many apps wil be formed as for his serer yes thats a prob , as for grief if u ban some things grief is impossible

so all we need a hero with a dedica server and we r done

Woot has worked his ass off to give us the servers that we play on. If you don't respect what he's done, GTFO.
Also, We already have a dedicated server.

Tekkit is th new MineCraft Literally it is a fast growing hype thanks to yogscast videos

Introducing tekkit wuld be an honor i know it wuld be painful at first but the benefits u culd reap, the jetpacks u culd fly ,that laser u culd kill,

Son, when the fuck did you start playing Minecraft, and do you really think that everyone in this gaming community deserves to be called an "ignorant kid?" Team9000 is built up out of highly experienced players who have surely been playing much, much longer than you.

Also, you seem to assume that anyone who knows anything about the game lives for mods... that really isn't the case. I first played Minecraft in the summer of 2010, before the release of Alpha. I've played tons of mods, and you know what? I've come to the conclusion that vanilla Minecraft is much better. If you've actually run out of things to do in vanilla, you're doing it wrong.

Never. There are way too many things to blacklist. If you took the time to blacklist them all, Tekkit wouldn't be Tekkit. All the fun things would be taken out. I mean, pipes would be out because you could be able to steal from locked chests, quarries are out because you might accidentally delete some underground houses, catalyzers are out because grief, jetpacks out because of flight. Must I list them all for you? Anti-griefing Tekkit would take ages and would ruin the point of Tekkit entirely. The only things you would have left would probably be building material.

I'll agree that Tekkit is good. But this thread is trash, and you, lolakuti, are an ignorant child yourself. I would bet large sums of money that you aren't even 12 years old - my 7 year old step-sister knows how to spell better than you. I'm not exaggerating in the least, either.

Aside from that, you have done nothing but insult every single person on here who enjoys playing Minecraft as close to Vanilla as we do. I've played Tekkit and I've returned to Vanilla because honestly, it's more fun. And I can guarantee I've been playing Minecraft longer than you.

I don't like being insulted by an upstart noob. You would be wise to just go into your corner and shut up for six months. Let us know when you gain some maturity and the ability to spell.

I agree with TheGurw, I mean everyone knows the feeling of utter joy when you finally find a diamond after hours and hours of mining right? That feeling is deleted from Minecraft as you can just use things that do it for you. What about the feeling of rage when a creeper blows you up a moment later? That's gone. There's no adventure, no risk. Key components of Minecraft that make it enjoyable are taken away. Sure, it's amazing when you adore redstone and want to truly create awesome things, but after you make something that does everything for you, what point is there to keep playing?

And this thread made my day. I haven't seen 12-year-old butthurt on this scale since I stole my brother's CoD CD and sold it for a packet of Doritos.

I definitely agree with you here, but Tekkit can be fun if you play it right - generally without EE. In my current singleplayer world, I have a decently sized wooden building with a good basic setup - upgraded machines connected to an MFE powered by solar arrays. I also have a quarry set up that I move around after it finishes mining, transporting items with teleportation pipes. All of this stuff added together is TREMENDOUSLY expensive. This added to the fun - it would take long hours of hard branch mining to acquire the necessary materials for truly awesome stuff. However, things all went wrong when I neglected my building style and fell for the easy diamonds of a condenser. Sure, I had to trade stuff in, but after moving my quarry several times and doing so massive spelunking, I pretty much had all I needed. This really diminished the fun. However, there may still be hope for my world - I'm working on actual buildings that look good and using EE less, along with enjoying the joys of mining turtles.

However, I didn't really abuse EE - two words: energy collectors. These things, while requiring glowstone, make stuff out of thin air. There's also several macerating exploits. There's probably some good aspects to EE, but it really tends to give a bad reputation to Tekkit.

If you're still saying that the automation in Tekkit removes some of the fun, consider this: XP grinders. They take awhile to build and work over time, but they give you plenty of XP just for punching mobs that can't attack you.

Point is, do what you consider is fun - Minecraft's a game, after all. If you really want to use EE, go right ahead, but from my experience, it tends to get rid of most of the fun even if used carefully.
