False. The leap year applies to the Julian and Gregorian calendars only. Mayan Long Count calenders did not count the number of days in a year but rather the number of days after their 4th mythological creation cycle. Scholars have already attempted to correlate the two calendars (under the GMT 584283 correlation), and so far there is still general consensus that the next long count cycle will occur on December 21, 2012.
