Hello there,
I have a towny question.
I wanted to make sure i got all the information before i do this, i i really didn't want to screw this up. I already built a place of my own on an island; 36x44xidk. My biggest question is do the blocks underneath this 32x32 are protected too? is it like infinity? "With your purchase you get one four chunk area (32x32) of land." what is the height?

For my second question is pretty simple. When i give the command to create a town will the blocks be in a 8 block radius and then i'll have 3 other 16x16 "chunks" to place? or is it like /town new... BAMMM!... 32x32

Call me stupid, idc. I just wanted to have this cleared up a little. Thank you

what ever chunk you buy is yours from sky to bedrock.
the other question: i don't understand what you mean

Ah.. yes when you claim the town(not chunk) it claims a 32x32 area around you in chunks( so 2x2)

When you claim the town chunk, it will claim the chunk you are in and not 32*32 around you. Use /towny map to see in which chunk you are.

You guess pretty much said the opposite. Ok, say I'm standing on my island. I count out 16 squares from two adjacent sides to the middle. So now I'm standing in the middle of a 32x 32 square (radius of 16). What I want to know is will I be able to customize where my 32x 32... Like make it 48x 16. Or is it like a standard that all /town new are always 32x 32 with no option to modify?

There is no option to modify.

It'll be an exact square of 32 x 32 and as number said, the chunks are all laid out and formatted. The chunk you claim is the one you are standing in at that very moment of claiming. In other words, you could be on the left side of the border, and you would claim the left chunk, but the right chunk is just on the other side of the line, which is the block right next to you.

Can I have a detailed guide on how to set up a town to where I can have people who are in other towns as friends and they have permission to build in my towns plots?

If you are in doubt, see https://www.team9000.net/threads/towny-plot-question.15918/ for further info :)
It pretty much applies to your question too. Just imagine those normal chunks are made of 16x16 blocks.

Alright, from what i understand from the thread you posted is that the world has preset grid squares for towny chunks to be in. So depending on where i stand when i create a new town, i will claim that towny grid square. Correct me if I'm wrong that explains everything. Thank you

Woot doesn't die. He just gets gradually more and more insane.

When the world ends, we can know that two things will remain: a burnt and broken Wooty, and an invincible, maniacal Pyro to annoy him, and cook his guacamole.
Oh! I like guacamole.
