Changes needed in first post:

This info is valid for 1.0.1 version of server.

On 1.2.4 now.

Beds dont work like they do in Survival Single Player (SSP). You can lay down in them at night, but you will respawn in them only if you die in Nether.

Change underlined part to: not respawn in them if you die.

Q: What is MONEY ? How much i got and how the hell do i get them?
A: [...] Second is to sell stuff in the SPAWN TOWER in the shop - accepted items are diamonds, cobble and dragon eggs.

Change underlined part to: diamonds in the SPAWN TOWER in the shop.

Changes needed in second post:

QUICK OVERVIEW :
Map
[...] You can switch between all four worlds (Overworld, Skylands, The Nether, The End) with isometric view.

Change underlined part to: both worlds (Overworld and Skylands)

Economy
We are rocking iConomy plugin. When you join, you are given 30$ to start with.

Change underlined part to: start with no credits.

Right now, you can sell diamonds, cobble and dragon eggs - buy bread, iron pick and sword, and cookies.

Change to e.g.: Right now you can sell diamonds, and buy a large variety of items at the spawn tower, including items from the Nether and other items that are impossible to obtain.

This command is very useful: /plot perm It gives all the info about the plot you're standing in. The first line shows either <town name> (<town classification, e.g. Metropolis>) if it's an unowned plot, or the owner's name if it's an owned plot. After that, it shows you the values of the permissions and the toggles, the only toggle that is relevant being mob spawns.

Q: But it says I am outsider [...]
A: [...] Be aware that if you get stucked in claimed area, there is not much help comming and you will probably have to use /killme command (kills you, you drop all items and levels and respawns you to nearest graveyard/spawn tower) to get yourself out.

/killme has not been working for a few days or more. Today I heard that /suicide is available instead.

Oi, #J. Did this up for you. Might have missed some stuff, but this should be good to go. I hope you don't mind, I also fixed up some of the grammatical errors as well.
Welcome to Team9000 survival server info thread.
This info is valid for the 1.2.5 version of server.

Q: So what do I do now ?
A: Same old. Go out, mine stuff, build stuff, get eaten and hugged and such. SURVIVE !

Q: Where am I then ?
A: You spawned in good old SPAWN TOWER [193,-506]. This will be your closest respawn point now. We have more spawn points, but those require quite a walk/ride/boat to get into their territory. Beds dont work like they do in Survival Single Player (SSP). You can lay down in them at night, but you will not respawn in them.

Q: But it says I am an outsider and I cant do anything here. I dont want to be an OUTSIDER.
A: That is our first big thing you should learn. We are running the Towny plugin on the server, that is used to protect land and items from people outside the town (outsiders - the ones that aren't members of the town). The spawn tower and nearby land is part of a town, so you can't change it, mine there, not even punch a tree. You have to move out of the town borders to be able to do anything. Be aware that if you get stuck in claimed area, there is not much help coming and you will probably have to use the /suicide command (kills you) to get yourself out.

Q: Ok, but how do I know, if I am out of claimed land or not ?
A: There are two ways. First, and more importantly, there is a REAL-TIME MAP of the server on t9k.me/map that displays the town locations. It is not perfectly accurate, due to the point-of-view of the map, but it should give you a rough idea of where you are in relation to the town. Secondly, Towny will tell you in chat when you move between towns and the Wilderness. When "Wilderness" appears in your chat, you are no longer in a town and you should be able to build. Basically - if you get "Outsiders cannot do that here" you are in a town. If you have a problem with the map, try different browser (Firefox and Chrome work best).

Q: What is MONEY ? How much do I have and how the hell do I get it?
A: You can see your money status with /money command. There are two options to get money. First and easiest is voting for the server - t9k.me/vote - you can vote on each site with your Minecraft name for 30 Credits (total 60 Credits a day). Second is to sell diamonds in the SPAWN TOWER in the shop. Conveniently, you can also buy stuff there, check out this wiki page for more info on that.

Q: Can't place water/lava ! Whats going on ?
A: It is a server defense mechanism to significantly reduce number of "one-time griefers" (who join, grief/kill and never come back). You can't place water or lava, or use flint & steel until you visit SIGN ISLAND [6463,-214] and right-click on the sign there. To help you get there, use the online map located at http://t9k.me/map.

Q: Cool, how can I JOIN A TOWN ?
A: First, it's better and cheaper variation to be part of another city, then starting your own if you still feel like it later. For that you have to ask the mayor of the town you like to invite you. Once you are invited (and you /accept) you become a resident of the city.

Q: And if I would like to START MY OWN TOWN ?
A: Find some nice spot. Its not good idea to start it near spawn or near someone else's town. You want the space to grow. You will also need 1000 Credits.
Now, every claim you do is going to be 32*32 blocks, called a Towny chunk. You can see in which chunk you are by /towny map. Stand in one and use /town new {name} to start a city. Hooray!
Type /town to get some info about your town. If you want to have more chunks, you have to claim them on your town border (which is now 4 sides). For that, you will need the free chunk and 100 Credits deposited to your town with /town deposit 100. Move to that chunk and use /town claim. Now you are expanding! You can also expand with so-called Outposts, which gives you ability to claim land not on your border, but its really costly (800 Credits) with /town claim outpost so use that only for far expansions. For renaming the town you can use /town set name {newtownname}.

Q: The hell, where did my items go ? Why does my house have holes all around ? I HAVE BEEN GRIEFED !
A: Firstly, calm down. There have been many mistakes and false accusation made by people freaking out and later finding out it was their friend making new items, upgrading house with new textures or killing slimes underground. If you are sure that this isnt the case, then you need to report a grief.
Now, what you should do is to verify, it's a worth a grief report. Missing two cooked porkchops probably isn't, missing stack of diamond is. And it applies to blocks changed too.
When you know its worth the hassle, its time to strike back! Go to https://www.team9000.net/forums/ban-appeals-abuse-reports.31/ and make a new thread. Report what has changed, what you are missing etc. and DON'T FORGET TO ADD COORDINATES. WITHOUT COORDINATES THE ADMINS CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHODUNNIT. Also, having pictures added helps too, but dont overdo it.

Updated. I need to get some GPS/shop pics, but it should be pretty much up to date.
Thanks DOS622.

Also, not fan of linking wiki, as that would beat the idea of player generated content.
I am more like another version of wiki with few pictures and some ideas/hints.

No, i dont mean wiki. I mean the content players will discuss, post and such. You wont go with such content to wiki, but to forum and i would like to aggregate such info. Wiki link should be at spawn.

I made some images which are more spoon feeding-style, not sure if you will want to use these or not:

Looking into the spawn tower from its front door:

Spawn_tower_with_GPS.png

Looking into the Global Portal System room (with maximum Field Of View) from the spot you spawn in:

Accidently found out how to focus whispering (aka you dont have to type anything other than message) - will add that later on

previously /ch tell name - now /tell name, then simply chat, and back to global /ch g

No longer updated until further notice. I have not played MC for some time now (as it was pretty much replaced with D3) and i am not on par with changes to server. If anyone wants to make some changes, you are free to use the original info and stuff. I will still check in here from time to time as i will probably come back someday(tm).

Dislike. Will miss your rail insanity, man. See you on the flipside.

Firstly, my above statement still stands, D3 is still taking more of my time than MC currently.
I guess this thread needs some serious updates in the near future.
I dont think so. You can see for yourself that server was wiped and you cant do anything, i am not going to post that. Plus, if you read the few posts above, this thread was intended as better explained info for the server, as wiki lacked in that department of "explained everything". If Gurw continues to update wiki at least same speed he did last time, i am not sure if this wouldnt be just "wiki link, discuss" thread. My point still stands, wiki discussion isnt something you would go to ask some specific question, but then again, you dont need dedicated thread for that. And common questions can be easily added to wiki, it just needs some active members, which sadly i am not lately - and that favors wiki info too, as that can be edited by multiple people - unlike my post.

Don't count on the wiki being updated by me - I only update things when I have a sudden burst of inspiration.
