Did you see the second economy post I had for you? Wanted to know your thoughts on my other suggestionThat was me -- I was deleting lines while I added them :|

Yes, selling more items from the store is easy and doesn't impact the economy much. Someone just needs to get around to doing it.
Isn't that "someone" supposed to be you?![]()
Yes it is, and he has done it.
Is it really that big of an issue with folks exploiting the system by using X-ray for diamonds? I mean obviously people get banned all the time for using it, but is it really unbalancing or impacting the economy? Short of a town accumulating hundreds, if not thousands of members, it's not as though they could take over the world with said exploits since Towny limits the number of plots the town can own per residency. I recall there being several bans of mayors and/or assistants for use of it, but out of all the minor onesy-twosy folks who have never been on the server prior, did any of them actually create a town? I don't see a voting only system as impacting the use of X-Ray. Diamonds are diamonds regardless of whether one can sell them. If anything, maybe you'll just see towns build out of all diamond brickI've actually discussed this with a few people in the past, but if we ever had a server wipe, it's likely that voting would be the only source of credits (no selling diamonds). This method ensures that all players, who are reasonably active, gain a constant amount of credits. These credits would be a bit more valuable, to make up for the fact that selling diamonds is no longer possible, but "exploiting" the credit system would be impossible, because you cannot "x-ray" for votes.

So now I can buy lapis? 0_0

On the plus side, it would be nice to be able to put diamonds towards blocks for builds instead of funneling them into town funds
That said, if a wipe were to ever happen in the future and voting was the only source of income, I would hope that the plot pricing would be changed to coincide with this revenue impact. I don't think Haven would have near the number of plots it does now if we had to only rely on voting only - and that's a lot of structures that would go unprotected and open to grief as a result.
If the plots don't change, I say build a massive protected wall around the entire city with the entrance being break a block and replace it.

Please add Mossy & Cracked Stonebrick (as ALL of the strongholds have been claimed) and Blazerods please.
Do you want to be the one who has to rebuild the wall every time we want to expand outwards? Just a thought...
Back on topic...
Is he going to implement this 'Blaze Island' and put Blaze Rods up for sale in the store also?
This (well, diamond tools, actually) is why I don't like being able to sell diamonds exclusively. However, I'd be ok with selling diamonds exclusively if towns could open their own shops. The money going into the economy would still be exclusive to diamonds and voting, and shops maximize the efficiency of circulating that money. On the plus side, it would be nice to be able to put diamonds towards blocks for builds instead of funneling them into town funds![]()
Messy and not our style.

I'll make it pretty.
It would have room for expansion, but yes I could make it bigger as needed. It's only a wall.
Also that was only a last resort suggestion. Of course I don't want a wall around the entire city, but you gotta do what you gotta do to protect your stuff.
It won't be a problem. Deathly Hallows was unprotected, and we had little to no problems.
I wasn't around for that but it sounds like it was a cool city.
