Job Serching? Bah! Jobs come to me!

Okay, this is pretty funny.

I was walking down the hallway at the start of school, and my Year 10 PE teacher walks past me and says hello... then turns around and asks me "you still live in North Adelaide, right?" To which I reply yes, in a confused manner. Why would he be asking me a question like that?

"Do you want a job?" He asked. For the past 4 months I've been thinking about getting a job but had no idea where to start. But this is almost a once in a life time opportunity, being a teen and being offered a part-time job when you're about to look for one.

The job in question is taking the role of "Ball Steward" in which you pick up golf balls at the local golf course that have been left behind... The reason why they want people in North Adelaide is because they need kids near the golf course itself and not that far away so they don't have to travel that far to get to them; I live 5 minutes away from the course. They also want kids around the age of 16 or at least just in Year11 for this job. Myself being 16 and in Year11, Living in North Adelaide made me perfect for the job.

Now, this is the kicker. This job pays $22 an hour! That's Crazy for a teen's part time job, and they're normally 1-3 hour days on Fri-Sat-Sun so that's like $66 in 1 week working just 1 hour a day. This is amazing for a job where you take a golf buggy and collect balls on the ground. Also since I’ve been walking through this golf course since year 8 means I know the whole place inside out.

I shouldn’t be celebrating /just yet/ but they’re looking for one person and I’m perfect for the job. All I need to do is put in a resume and I’m in.

So, yea. $22 bucks an hour to pick up balls on a golf course.

He'll be in a buggy. No worries, just have to get used to balls hitting you at high speeds. lol. Also, you lucky mofo. That is great pay here in America.

Holy carp. $22/hr is almost what I make. Then again, I work an 18/3 10s cycle, so....(for the unaware, that's 18 10 hour days, with 3 days off) my cheque is just a little bit bigger lol. Good on ya, mate!

"22 Australian dollars = 22.5588 US dollars" as of posting date.

SRLSY? I'm hoping to become an EMT (you know, those dudes who come in an ambulance to make sure you don't die on the way to the hospital and who are exposed to blood, vomit, urine, feces, and all sorts of infectious diseases on a daily basis) and our pay isn't even close to that.

Vorspung, I made that joke the second I was offered the job.
MFD, I don't see any strings? And all the current strings flow to my favour!
Mole, what Jersey said, I get to drive a buggy! And it's when it's late, after people have hit all the balls.
All-the-people-that-are-jelly, I don't even know. I mean, It's like my dream job.

good luck in your application. hope things go your way and you get hired. even at part time that is not a bad rate of pay for someone your age.

Oh by the way, I'll be getting paid $85 a week to teach kids how to do fingerprinting, leatherwork, and play Native American games this summer. :myjobsbetterthanyours:
Anyways, when it comes down to it, you actually would make more in the same ammount of time I work. I work literally ALL WEEK. You just have at most 9 hours spread out over 3 days. So you get the celebratory  Good luck and happy ball hunting!
