Random technicality note. When you checkout on steam, you can assign it to go directly into your inventory for future trading. No need to gift it to your own email.

Yes, on the website, just login to your account, then do a gift checkout. There are three delivery options -- send to email, send to a friend on your list, or put in your inventory.
