It's funny when you see a video where minecarts have physics until you test it. Here's what Cyrusdexter and I found out!

I also found out that minecarts stack on each other.

Yup I use fraps, it usually doesn't lag like in the video but I was running steam and Tribes Ascend and the server and my computer had some trouble.
