I am thinking the lady has no retirement, little social security and took the one job other than Wal Mart greeter that would take her. Cut the lady some lack.

Reddit and other people started some donation thing and she is now going to get over $100k. Hopefully she doesn't have to work with those shit heads again.

While these kids are pieces of shit, this old lady is not much better. A bus monitor is meant to monitor. If you can't handle the job, you shouldn't be doing it. That in NO WAY excuses how the kids talked to her, but she should have brought up her concerns and dealt with this like an adult and not sat there day in and day out letting this happen. I am sure she is a nice lady, but if you can not handle a certain level of responsibility, you shouldn't put yourself in a position to deal with it.

Maybe its that I am in the military, but this honestly pisses me off. These kids are ridiculous, and something needs to be done, but the older lady was meant to uphold a certain standard, and it was HER JOB to make sure the kids did the same. She was the adult there, and thus she should have handled the situation like one. I have a lot more I feel needs to be said, but I doubt its worth saying at this point, as it will do nothing but piss people off, and the original problem will still be left unsolved.

I apologize, but this actually makes me really angry. I actually feel the lady is to blame for this more than the kids.

Not necessarily the womans fault. Back in highschool I had a really awesome teacher that did her job wonderfully. She dealt with the crappy side of our class that was always talking and causing problems. But one day she finally couldnt take it and cried because of them. It didn't make her a bad teacher, or that she did a bad job. It's just you can only deal with that kind of thing for certain periods of time. Luckily when that happened every student that made her cry felt like crap and super guilty.

I saw that, but wouldn't be surprised if some snot-nosed kid started that thing and pockets all the money. That lady deserves to retire.

Again, if you can not handle the job, don't do it. I am not getting onto her for crying, but for putting herself in a situation like she did. She is an adult, and you don't have to sit there and deal with stupid stuff like that. You may or may not believe that at the moment, but I guarantee that there is plenty she could have done. I don't pretend to know the full situation, but they made it pretty clear this had been happening for a while. Just saying.

...Rochester? Oh, shi-
Oh, wait. That's right. I live in one of Rochester's "rural/suburban" towns. Of course I know about how this kind of stuff happens...

It's just... wow. We have at least a little bit more dignity/respect out here in the suburbs. F*cking kids these days and friggin' 1st graders with cell phones...

Reddit, and most of the news networks, has made me more hopeful of humanity.
