For the second addition to my portfolio, I designed and created a tree. Wanting to differ from my first entry, which exemplified architecture and sculpting (my enclosed statue), I wanted something more biological; more natural. When designing my tree, I had three rules:
1) Keep the tree irregular, as to stay true to the nature of the plant.
2) Build the tree in relation to the contour of the landscape around it, as to create the illusion of the root structure such a tree would have.
3) GO BIG OR GO HOME.
I built the tree, as with many of my works, purely from my own mental recall, using no external reference. I paid close attention to scale, and used absolutely NO flying/no-clip whatsoever.
The total time it took to create was 7 hours and 36 minutes. For this project, I politely refused all help offered from others. It was nothing less than a joy to see my tree grow from a small sapling into the epic testament to nature it ended up being.
Thanks to the many players whose compliments towards this tree really made it more than worthwhile.
Thanks, and Enjoy!
