For the third addition to my Team9000 portfolio, I wanted to explore what I find to be one of the most interesting aspects of Minecraft: The topographical contours of the terrain. I spent some time studying topography in the boy scouts and in college, and after examining the topographical landscape of minecaft, I came to some basic conclusions as to how to go about properly sculpting the land.
I chose to do an island chain, for one because it would stand out and show my contours with better relativity to the server-generated contours around it, and also because I wanted to work the topography of both land and water, and explore how they work together to present a realistic contour system that is true to minecraft.
Lastly, I wanted to create an island chain so accurate to minecraft that to any other passing player it would be unrecognizable from the server-generated terrain altogether.
Thank you, and enjoy!
