Minecraft Survival/Creative - Intro Quiz Suggestions

The intro quiz is our idiot filter. Unfortunately, people can get through it by following people or using chat. Also, the lack of a roof (last time I was there) allows people to use Rei's Minimap. Could we make people in the quiz invisible, make them unable to use chat, and add a roof (A flat square would do it. Ooh, or a flat square with "Team9000" written on it)?

Definitely agree. And is there a possibility that once you take the quiz once, you don't have to take it again to switch worlds?

Against this, mainly due to STS and Creative having different mechanics that people might forget after a while. However....

Fully support this idea.

Implement /ignore and people who answer incorrectly 3 times are booted to stop people from entering a new door every time to get through along with the aforementioned suggestions and I'll be content enough to stop complaining whenever I'm online.

one of the questions should be, who is the creator and owner, because i hate newbies coming on spamming the chat asking "hey is the owner on?"
"who's the owner"
"hey are you owner? i want OP"
so i really think that should be a question

These are both great ideas.

Also a sign that says you will never become an op and the only reason you exist in this world is because all the other sperm were too lazy to give any competition!

Thats kinda fucked up. Anyone can be op with enough commitment.

Woot isn't oping anybody on minecraft survival, since I started 2 years ago it has gained no ops but lost about 6

We're not trying to alienate the entire player base here. If they cheat their way through the quiz, there's nothing we can do about it. Adding a roof and disabling quiz chat is just going to make the intro experience even more boring for legitimate players.

may i suggest that, if possible, make the quiz a join spot for first time server joiners then make a respawn point at the end of the quiz so you dont have to go through it over and over?

And if you end up forgetting something, you're boned.

Also, if I recall correctly, Woot said anybody can potentially be an op on the server, however, they will lose the ability to play the game normally, due to the perks of being an admin effectively making you a god. This probably has changed due to the new map. I dunno. Never asked on it, because I don't really care. xD Might I make another suggestion? Change the room orders of Creative and STS. They're the exact same and anyone with any kind of memory can skirt past everything on one of them without a care in the world.

A big problem is people asking things that the quiz already answers. What if they were given a manual with instructions/rules/FAQs? I realize that commands could be faster, but a written book may be easier for people unaware of such commands.

The only downside I can think of (besides finding a way to distribute them) is that they can be exploited for villager trading (by getting a lot of manuals, then selling them):

However, I think that can be limited by preventing people from picking up a second manual if another is already in their inventory.

You can make it so the manual is only given to new players.
