My Adventure into Newcastle, Sydney and other Aussie places

Well, it's official. I'm finally going to Australia to complete my studies in Architecture. I'll be flying over to the land-down-under and arriving somewhere on the 13th of Feb 2013, and having a place to stay in this general location.

Of course, being the resourceful rouge that I am. I was wondering if any of you T9kers are also going to be around and stuff. Maybe you are going to throw away furniture? Or maybe you are renting a room somewhere? I am going to need alot of whatever-I-can-grab because the currency rates here are bogus. It's roughly 3.1 MYR = 1 AUSD

I know its going to be hard work getting my degree and I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to pass. Hell, I've stayed in the most ghetto of places in KL and that soul-destroying environment made me realize that there is no worser hell on earth; and the suburbs of OZ (no matter now expensive it may be) will be a much more productive place to achieve greater success.

Anyways, I've been to Perth for a while on holiday and I can say that Australia is infinitely better than Kuala Lumpur. People are friendlier, the place is cleaner and more beautiful than even the most royal of places in KL. I love going to BigWs, Woolys, EBgames, Dymocks, Lowes, and other random places like Kmart and Reject Shop.

Damn, I didn't even know you could greet people on the streets of OZ. Just smile and return the greeting like a gentleman, how amazing is that? When someone greets you on the streets of KL they often mean trouble, or are trying to sell you useless crap.

But the best part of Australia is the fact I could go anywhere on bicycle... when the weather is good. And its always good and cool for the most part of the day... except when its raining or blazing hot. The red roads on the sides are like a godsend. If I was in KL, I'd have to pay an overpriced taxi driver to probably go across the street, get caught in a jam and travel half-a-fucking-world across KL just to get somewhere where I could have walked for 20 mins to get to. Only that I can't because pedestrians are frowned upon by town planners.

So I am mega-hyped to finally be going to what's heaven-on-earth or Equestria-minus-ponies. Is anyone in Sydney? Oh well, lets meet as not awkwardly as possible.

Any Australian warning signs? Let me know. The warning signs in KL should be : DO NOT LIVE HERE.

Vorsprung lives in Sydney.
Prepare your anal cavity for flames of the sexual kind.

Regardless, I live in Adelaide, so I can't really meet up with you.
Be warned,
Everything will try and kill you.
Also watch out for bogans.

How long are you staying for?

2 years. And then some. I will have to apply for an Australian Permanent Residency, it changes every year so I gotta follow up on that.

Sydney is close to Newcastle,
So if I aim right,
I can chuck Pasitos at your domicile.

If you don't know what a Pasito is, you will soon learn,
For they are lovely.
