New world/city theme idea for survival.

Just throwing this out their.
I think it would be kinda neat to have a space colony type themed world/city.

Things would include.
-enemy spawn on
-freedom of building floating objects (space ships, aircraft etc..)
-theme builds (biodomes, agri farms, space ports/ships)
-building restrictions on wood structures, unless inside/underground
-the door to get to this world would need to be inside a built spaceship in one of the cities.
-the door arriving would also be in a built spaceship on the new world/city.

I think efforts should be made to make this world/city a harder world to play in. Infact having the opposition, acteually encourages a sci-fi setting. Results being, colonists tend to wall themselves in, build higher up, or underground, adding to what could be seen as a sci-fi setting, on a colony, in a hostile enviroment, with low gravity, and a need to dig in.

Another thing that would lend itself to the sci-fi experience, is the multitude of skins the players play. Its almost like walking into some cafe in star war.

Any other ideas, please post them. I'm acteually really excited about this concept, and would love to here your input.

it would be realy nice to have such a world, but it needs to be completly empty. can woot remove all blocks(except the portal ofcourse) and let it be night permantently?

He could remove all the blocks, but a better idea would be to turn all ground blocks into soulsand (simulate higher gravity/more hostile environment), all the tree trunks into netherrack, and the leaves into glowstone. :) Or maybe I just want access to nether minerals. :D

Regardless, removing all the blocks is a somewhat scary idea. It would turn a difficult world into a near-impossible world. Besides that, the Void is a glitchy and scary place to be. Not recommended. He could, however, remove all the grass in the world so that none would grow. I could see that. Double the spawn rate of lava pools, reduce the water, remove all the ore and trees, etc etc etc. There's so much that could be done to the world itself.

He could also set it to be permanently midnight, which wouldn't bother me a bit.

I like the idea that monsters could spawn in the city, and I think it'd be cool if he also allowed zombie pigmen to spawn as well, but turned off regular zombies (they're too.....non-scifi). I think the spawn rate should be similar to the Outlands, or a little higher even, just to make life difficult.

We could build a spaceship in the Outlands for the portal to be in, or the portal could be in an easy-to-navigate cavern at around elevation 40.

I think the portal on the other side, however, should be in a floating building 20-30 blocks above the ground.

One requirement for floating buildings, however, just to make things harder (and less unrealistic): the building must be flat-bottomed and have four lapis blocks in a square attached near the center, with redstone torches on them.

Removing blocks, would be hard, if you just came here, and never played anywhere.
However we would all be pioneers from other cities. We could import alot of items.
This would also strenghten an economy.
Given the fact that the economy is kinda silly (my personal opinion), it could be pretty cool!

Gurw - permant midnight would be sooo scary, and also sooo fun.

reminds Bry (BMW) of Pitch Black!!

especially if the spawn rate is similar to the Outlands. With Spiders that are never indifferent, Creepers constantly spawning in herds of 4-5+, and Skeletons swarming with arrows, not to mention the possibility of accidentally angering a Zombie Pigman and having all his friends gang up on you?
