Powered carts + storage carts= problem

Hello 9kers

I tried to make a convoy consisting of a powered minecart and a storage minecart in front of it. I fed the powered minecart with coal and it moved.. howevere it was unable to push other things around (storage minecart)... at one point it even passed through the storage minecart and continued.. leaving all my efforts fruitless...

Is it a server bug? restriction? Did I do something wrong?

It's been broken for some time - any cart that is not occupied will only travel a few blocks, even if via powered minecart or powered rail.

Then storage/powered minecarts are pointless....

You just noticed how much more awesome storage minecarts just got.
