How to Play
# First, download Quake 2 from a legitimate source. You can even purchase [http://store.steampowered.com/app/2320/ Quake 2 from steam]
# Download and install the [http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/r1q2/download/r1q2-websetup.exe R1Q2 Client]
# Do not run Quake 2 from steam! Instead, launch the R1Q2 Client from your desktop. It will use the Quake 2 steam files, but is a more efficient and up-to-date executable.
# Ensure your mouse and video settings are configured correctly. Make sure mouse look it ON (otherwise, you will be looking around with your keyboard!)
# In your multiplayer address book, add the IP addresses from the Team9000 server list.
# Enjoy!
Team9000 Jump
On the Team9000 Jumpmod server, some special instructions are needed. It is beyond the scope of this article to teach you HOW to play jump maps, but you must follow these directions to make jumping even possible.
# Download [https://misc.sites.team9000.net/q2jump.cfg Ozy's Quake 2 Jump Config], and save it into your quake 2 "baseq2" folder as "jump.cfg".
# While in game, open console (push ~)
# Type "exec jump.cfg", and the jump config will be executed.
# You must run this config each time you wish to play a jump map, or you can save it as "autoexec.cfg" and it will run all the time.
LRcon Administration
Only a few people have administration access.
This access is provided to all Q2 mods via Q2admin.
The secret is available in q2/config/q2adminlrcon.txt
Console commands follow:
Change Map
lrcon <secret> map <mapname>
View Player Details (time latency userid name)
playerlist
Kick Player
lrcon <secret> kick <userid>
IP Ban Player
lrcon <secret> sv !ban ip %p <userid>
Q2Jump Administration
Only a few people have administration access.
This access is available in q2jump only.
Admins are listed in config/jump/admin.cfg
Admin levels are listed in config/jump/jump_mod.cfg
Console commands follow:
Login
admin <username> <password>
Change Map Instantly
mvote <map>
