It really feels great to pay money for a beta, then have the company making millions on it decide maintaining functional servers is too much work.

Please, don't be negative! They're just humans, they are trying as hard as they can to fix this issue for people like you and me!

Yeah, but it's not like you pay for beta to stay in beta forever. They want to add content. But at this point in time with the updates they've come up with, I wish at 1.7.3 they decided to work on upgrading their server instead of adding hunger, endermen that were scary and are just lame, RPG elements, and other garbage I hate and even though I don't have to use them, it will impact me against the community. It's no longer a sandbox, more like RPG with building.

I do miss the sandbox qualities, I wish you would turn them off/on. However, the new RPG qualities have been quite fun, except for that feeling when you realize that you're lost in an abandoned mineshaft.

I understand your sentiment, but I'm not sure I can agree. To me, not having a backup server in place to switch to if the main server goes down is not, for a multimillion dollar company 'working as hard as they can.' Letting the entire game be down entirely for many many many hours at a time is not 'working as hard as they can. Leaving the official minecraft forum thread about the issue titled 'FIXED!" while it is clearly not fixed... you get the idea.

I still miss having green grass everywhere. Snow biomes. Nether for just glowstone. Basing the game off of funding diamonds. Making cool creations. Basically that's how I pictured minecraft would be forever. But, y'know, its not like there isn't people who like the updates. I'll have to live with it. Hopefully Notch atleast thinks about removing the hunger bar.

I can't stand the way hunger works, it can be kinda fun sometimes, but I like the instant healing-ness. Also, yes, I do miss having diamonds be the source of everything, as much as I love enchantments, they can't replace the old alpha diamonds. And the loss of the taiga biome is the worst tragedy I have ever befallen. However, I do like the biome-dependent grass colors, I wasn't ever really a fan of that lime green grass everywhere.
