Tired of having to press the mute button whenever something is mentioned on TV that you're just tired of hearing about? Consider it a thing of the past now!
According to this article on CNN.com, a do-it-yourselfer in New York hacked his remote to auto-mute whenever certain words or phrases are said on TV. The creator basically hacked his remote and made of changes so that it "reads" the TV's closed captions. Whenever it "reads" any name, word or phrase you've programmed into the remote, it'll automatically mute the TV for 30seconds. The creator of the remote posted his work online so anyone can do it (which you can find right here) and the whole thing only cost the guy about $70.
