Server down?

I looked on the T9K map and there's quite a few people on the server, probably because they didn't leave the server when the update was released.

Colton, there is an edit button on your post, if you have something to add to your post, please use this feature rather than double or triple posting.

Also, if Wooty is deciding on updating to this newest version of MC then it may warrant a new server wipe completely. The key word being MAY, it is not guaranteed. We would need to see how it affects the current world, as it may screw with the current terrain of key areas, such as current towns because of adding new biomes.

All in all, we need to wait to see what is happening, and as Aetherrack has stated, there is no current recommended build for bukkit on the new release yet.

There is a better chance that this was just a normal server crash and will be back online when Wooty can get around to re-booting it.

I actually almost hope for a server wipe.

I agree with thee. I hope this was just a normal crash.

EDIT: On the T9K map, no one is moving, so I believe there's a big possibility that the server crashed

If ever there's planned maintenance, Wooty comes on and warns people - seems like it crashed.

When I opened up minecraft, it said there was an update, apparently, they added jungle biomes, fixed the zombie AI, made vines climbable, and put collision back on ladders, you can also now breed wolves :D This may be the reason why the server's down.
dosnt even give me a choice to update, dosnt even say theres 1

Is it possible that Woot could wipe and re-generate land far up north, west, east, and south where towns are not located yet?

That way, people could almost go on journeys to visit the forests, and inevitable chunk cluster-fucks.

In all honesty, if the map was wiped right now, after things were finally starting to get good, I would be mad.

I'm fairly confident it's just a crash and no admin around to restart it. Is there no serverside plugin/script or another way to have the server check via intervals if it is up and running? If it's not then it would just kill the process and relaunch? You would run the risk of getting stuck in a loop it's something major has failed... but it might reduce the occurances/down time.
