Server down?

The update is just a weekly snapshot, so you must manually download and update the jar. Only when an official update is released is the option to update present. Forcing the update doesn't update to the weekly snapshot, either. You can download it from the forums. As far as the server being down, it's most likely a crash. Maintenance doesn't usually take more than a few minutes, and Woot gets on to warn everyone.

Lol I wrote that and then I checked to see if thats what I pressed and it wasn't... :facepalm: But it did ask me if I wanted to update, I clicked yes and that was it, there wasn't even any change. So it was just a weekly snapshot.

If it's not then it would just kill the process and relaunch? You would run the risk of getting stuck in a loop it's something major has failed... but it might reduce the occurances/down time.

The latest 1.1 bukkit dev build has an occasional crashing issue. Like always, the process doesn't shut itself down after a crash (Notch derp), so the only way for it to restart is if I do it manually. And I was sleeping.
