I have a couple things to share. firstly, StartMail
Basically, it's going to be a completely private email service from the owners of Startpage and Ixquick. It's currently in beta testing and should roll out to the public some time this year for about 5 USD per month.

I don't quite understand everything, as I am not familiar with net code, but it seems like governments have bot-nets comprised of their populations' machines at their disposals.
