StTheo's Vanilla Server

I'm not sure what could even be causing that issue. I've never seen only one player be affected on only one server before.

Right, i have huge problem.

Since about 2 days ago, whenever i log into your server and say anything, like hey for example, the chat only shows i've said that about 5 minutes later. So anything anyone says when i log in, 5 minutes later it all appears like it has all just been said in order. But, at spawn, I might say "hey", 5 minutes later it appears, and anything said when that appears, also appears 5 minutes later. So the chat, sky, fireworks etc are always 5 minutes behind. But, at Tyruthet, if i stay completely still, the time it takes for things to be normal is massively reduced. But, if i run from one side of my town to the other, and suddenly stop, everything takes a while to get back to normal, so the sky jolts and messages start to appear one by one. The same with enderpearls. This started on either the 3rd or 4th i think, so if anything changed within the last 3 days, i would like it to be changed back so i could actually play.

Hopefully 1.7 bukkit will fix this problem some how, but the problem is not my wi-fi, since it is only occurring on your server.

If you know how to fix this, thanks in advance.

If you need anymore information because my explanation is not good, don't hesitate to ask questions.

This sounds like a client issue to me. Can you confirm/deny similar chat experience one other servers?

So I log on to Minecraft and I'm greeted by this.

Meanwhile I go on the fourms and see a new thread made 30 minutes before this post that basically said I can't build in the red circle.

(Notice the outpost that is now over there, is not there yet)

I go on the map to see he's claimed a settlement NOW super close to where we (me and my friend) were building. I will admit, yeah we were kinda close, but we weren't going to be GIGANTIC it was just the two of us. Plus there is some reasonable distance between the town and the area that we haven't claimed yet was.
Map.png

The night before was when we put up our house, which is still currently unfinished, and did a little bit of mining in the area. No one said anything about where we were building, so I just kinda assumed it was ok. Theo I asked you how much a town costed that night so I'd assume I'd be stopped by you if I was in a bad location.

Then I check my phone and see my friend (named FRONTLINE77, he doesn't hang out on the fourms so that's why the name sounds different) sent me a bunch of text messages saying he was attacked a bunch and his stuff was stolen by a few people from that town and was told to tp to spawn. There he was given a stack of watermelon seeds and was basically told to move somewhere else.

When I rejoined the T9K server I wanted to be aware of changes of the rules to the server. THIS COUNTS AS A CHANGE! I would've liked to know that towns had to be a certain distance from one another and that raiding existed now. I noticed PvP was on in the Wilderness, but I'm still going off the T9K rules you posted so I still assumed killing was bad (mmmkay).
If this is how things are now I don't want to be a part of it.

They do have to be a certain distance away from each other, but certainly not 700 blocks.

Hello,
I am incredibly sorry if we have caused any anger over our intended areas of settlement, but we did plan on settling their before hand (if you would look at the map you included, notice how it does not contain your town either), although this is not some kind of rule, only a suggestion which we really wanted.
I would just like to tell you how sorry we are, but that we would respect it if you moved, as we feel we have done nothing wrong.
The wilderness is pvp enabled and so I assumed that it was ok to kill him, however no members' of our town have taken ANY of your belongings which are stored in chests and would be glad to help you move to a different location.

EDIT: I have returned his items and compensation.

First of all:
PVP is tolerated only if it's consensual and the victim's items are returned.
As that was not posted on the front of this thread (it is now), the person who killed FRONTLINE77 was warned.

(Could you please remind me what they were??)
I do not acknowledge the validity of settlement "plans", only actual settlements (and unclaimed plots that people have put a lot of work into - though I request that these be claimed to avoid unnecessary drama).

Awesome; so it's ok for me to claim all Italay91's perimeter plots of his town...YAY; I love being rich!

I didn't think this needed to be said, but, for future reference, please don't completely surround one town with another. Entendre Fort is off the hook for this, as LagoonTown has a lot of room (though I personally don't see the point of claiming roads).

I just don't see the problem with making an outpost, if he really wanted the area to be safe and independent then he should've bought it. I don't wish to cause an argument though, and if removing our outpost for him to make a town is so important, then I am fine with that, so long as we get re-paid.
The real reason we made that outpost was as we found emeralds in the region, but I am fine with it being taken away...

You can find emeralds in any extreme hills biome. It's difficult to tell from the map, but did you actually claim something that Brantbren or FRONTLINE77 owned?

Well glad to see that its there now.

Keep it. He's not coming back and by extension I'm not either, take anything you want. (I left everything I was holding in that chest)
I'm sorry to hear that. I won't ban someone if the situation can be resolved, which it seems to have been.

If I did I am incredibly sorry and will be happy to remove the land asap.
But the surface is clear.

The only thing that was taken was whatever FRONTLINE77 was holding (which was technically returned once this whole situation was brought up). Besides that there was the sign telling us to leave and the outpost that's now on our tree farm, the chicken farm was untouched also. The house was untouched, the chest in the house was untouched and the secret chest was untouched.

Posted here for everyone's benefit:
Perhaps my rules are rather vague, so I'll work on that. If you're not sure if something is allowed, ask me and don't do it unless I say that it's ok. None of this "better to ask forgiveness than permission" shit.
  • PVP: I allow PVP when it is consensual and the items are returned. Unconsensual PVP is tolerated if items are returned, but multiple offenses are not.
  • Theft: Not allowed. Period. If someone gives up their home and says that it's free to take, then go for it.
  • Griefing: Not allowed. If you suspect that a structure has been abandoned, ask about it here.
  • Towny: Use towny solely for the expansion of territory you intend to use. I modified the number of plots per person to 100, but if this does become a problem I can reduce it to its default. No surrounding a town with plots to prevent their growth. I know Tsysin was bluffing, but that has happened before in the 1.0 world with the town of Panem, and I'd prefer that it not happen here.
