Team Avo plays Quake with Mojang

You guys don't even know the story behind this.

About a month ago Notch asked a website that was giving out MC for free to shut down. They challenged him to a Quake 3 match. Notch said that they were pretty cool and shut down the site before the game even was played. The 14 year old Dylan kid ran the site and I guess the other people on his team were from Team Avo. From what I saw Mojang destroyed them and they had a fun time.

If the true avo team showed up, i might have a chat with them politely.. but the avo fangirls that frequent classic make my face hurt, they are entertaining lol. Most of the servers ive see them grief are run by complete assclowns.

That is pretty low level playing, Avo was allowed to camp the rail gun way too much, at the first sign of a rail beam everyone should be sending rockets to that platform. And here I thought Notch was super pro challenging Bethesda. And what is with constantly switching to the gauntlet on q3dm17? Noooo.

Then again, them, alongside the Yogscast and Captain Sparklez, probably introduce the highest amount of people to the game. To Notch, it's probably not a bad thing, and they have sparked a recent insurgence in people's desire to learn how to program, which good people like Notch would approve of.

I have no problems with aVo griefing servers. It's another element of the game that is a bit more meta. Some people don't like it, whatever. Get a better server owner who knows how to run one.

However, I do have an issue with the way they portray themselves as hacking, unstoppable gods of grief. I've never seen them grief a server with any decent anti-griefing measures. You know, like HawkEye, WorldGuard (properly set up), Towny, LogOres, HoneyPot, etc etc etc....For that matter, the only reason they have the following they do is because they pretend that they're the best out there, and that nobody will ever be as good as they are, and that they have some secret custom-coded client that is impossible to block.

Custom-coded? Maybe, even probably. Impossible to block, detect, or counter? Fat chance. You could probably go so far as to bait them once to find out the signature of the client mod from the data it requests and sends to the server, then create a plugin/server mod that would auto-ban and revert the actions of any player joining with that client mod.

They just aren't that good. And they're assholes for pretending to be. Also, they can't really game to begin with, which is why they be so butthurt and go grief Minecraft servers.

They just want to get attention. That's all. Maybe they are very unsuccessful in real life, so they have to kick ass in the internet. And by "maybe" I mean "of course".

You guys are the very definition of butthurt. They have jobs, they actually play games, you can't deny making people mad is fun.

You made an account to revive a long dead thread where you insult people who have made several non-butthurt statements in an intelligent conversation insulting your community. Yes, I know who you are. So....who's the butthurt one?
