I tried replacing the minecraft.jar but when I try to play in the browser (I don't have a good enough video card to play in the client) it gives me a black screen.

Halp pl0x?

just my input here, it seems people are having trouble with the .jar? try redownloading Java, might help (havent tried this .jar file myself yet.)
