Since you're going to be in the Kansas/Missouri area - I'd suggest a stop at one of the many, amazing BBQ restraunts we have. I'd suggest either Jack Stack (Martin City, MO), Oklahoma Joe's (the original one - built out of an old gas station in Kansas City, KS) or Danny Edwards (downtown Kansas City, MO ). Shame you won't be this way next weekend - we've got a LAN party going on =P

Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is not in the driving path, but it is close. If you can make it, I will drive out there. Mall of America.

Also, I see what you did there. Whats are you circumventing? Rapid City, SD :p

Chicago, Illinois. Come to the Museum of Science and Industry in Hyde Park. :D It has some pretty cool stuff in there. I also happen to live like about 3 blocks away from it :D

Edit: The museum's address is 1 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive
Chicago, IL 60637

EditEdit: Further north, in the main city part, there is Shedd Aquarium, Alder Planetarium, Field Museum, and a bunch of other awesome stuff like Navy Pier

EditEditEdit: There is also a comic book store called First Aid Comics, where they have stuff like FNM (Friday Night Magic). Its address is 1617 East 55th Street Chicago, IL

EditEditEditEdit: On 57th Street and Harper there is a bunch of stores and stuff. There is a Subway, a general store (Harper Foods), and a really good restaurant called Salonica. Further down 57th, at 57th and Kenwood, there are some restaurants too, like Medici, Noodles Etc, and Edwardo's Pizza.

EditEditEditEditEdit: I live at 1463 E 56th Street Apt 1E, so if you are gonna stop byin Hyde Park, I can show you guys around if I have time.

Well, here in Missouri we have... um... hmm... well, the Gateway Arch has already been mentioned... wait! We have caves! Lots of caves!

There's also Silver Dollar City and Bothwell Lodge, I guess. Missouri's kind of boring, to be honest. At least we're not Kansas (j/k).

go check out NASA and then the Galleria (has the first and only Microsoft and Tesla Motor stores are located here), and maybe you'll chill with a random Azn person while you're in the city...

Theres only one place within 30 minutes of my house thats worthy of visiting, which is Dorney Park. sure, its not as good as Six Flags Great Adventure (which also is on the travelpath, i believe), but its still worth a stop. Its located in Allentown, PA.

You should goto Carrowinds in NC. It's pretty much on the border between NC and SC, along I-85. It also looks like you could swing by Pilot Mountain out in the west of NC. That's a very pretty view out there. OH! And you could stop by Salisbury, NC, home of Cheerwine, and Food Lion. There's some really good barbecue pits there I would reccomend trying out. Lexington Barbecue is the top of my list, it was even brought to the White House during the Reagan administration during a summit of some sort, I forget which one right now. If you can, head to Beaufort, NC and check out Blackbeard's ship and the Hunley (First submarine ever!).

ok, this is probably gonna ramble, so i'll just go ahead and start. i imagine you'll be pressed for time to get to L.A. in time for E3, so i suggest at least a stop in Vegas (go find Ollee and end up on Industrial *wink*). L.A. is big--a couple spots one should probably pass by are Hollywood (driving around is fine), and the beaches, like Venice's huge walk / shop zone (more lively on the weekend). South of there, you can buzz by San Diego / Tiajuana just to say you been there + did stuff-- perhaps get a less-than-legal cigar over the border =] ... ok, Alcatraz in San Francisco and probably the redwood forest are about the rest of california to zoom by. closing out, the other things i'd likely recommend are to pass by the Smithsonian / nation's capital in the D.C. area (day trip), Georgia: Augusta -- see the site of the Master's golf tournament, Alabama: Huntsville -- space camp and space / aeronautics museum. Florida: miami, key west, the everglades (Godlib :p ), cape canaveral? Ft. Lauderdale? crawfish steam in Lousiana? OK, that'll do for now. i'll look to contribute if i get any more ideas in a timely manner. =]

If you can make it to Las Vegas check out the "Pinball Hall of Fame":

http://www.pinballmuseum.org/
1610 E. Tropicana, Las Vegas NV 89119

As far as the Rio Grande Valley (where I'm at) there isn't much.. A couple o museums in Edinburg, and of course there is always South Padre Island..

If I were you, I`d stop near orillia, near Lake Simcoe. Has some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see.

Underground Atlanta is near the World of Coca-Cola. I suggest going there too, you get to try all of the international coke products, (if you go there, DON'T try Beverly. It's Terribad.) Definately a good trip?

to add to this quickly, while in california, you should go to knotts berry farm, which is, in my opinion, one of the best theme parks in the country. down here in FL, there is a shit ton in orlando that squeebz already told you, but there is old ST, Augustine and there are a couple old forts in Jacksonville as well as the Zoo and a couple other things that may be worth seeing. If you are in the kansas city area as well, check out an amusement park called Worlds of Fun.....it is also another fantastic amusement park. If I think of more today I will let you know.

Forgot to mention - in addition to highly recommending stopping for some BBQ while in the Kansas/Missouri area, I'd also throw out the option of taking a stop in at the LegoLand that opened up at Crown Center in Kansas City, MO. I mean come on, who doesn't like Legos? They're like old-school minecraft XD
