So with Southbridge and Newbank, the rules are as follows:
1. Don't build past the edge of the map.
2. A bunch of other words and such.
I wanted to build a floating island castle with drawbridge :( the void makes a very good moat ^_^
Dynmap will be available for city worlds once it's compatible with 1.7.10. PVP is for people who are nice about it (consensual and they give back any items taken). Discussions about extra worlds are being discussed.
But my plan was to kill anyone who got too close to my house >.>
edit:
Why is hunger so aggressive?

I'm hanging out in the overworld and I'm finding that I need to replenish the food bar way more often than I should. I would fill my food bar with cooked meat item, but then it would start depleting after a minute (even while standing still or afk), and I would lose half a food tick every 5 seconds or so.

What's going on?
Did you find some sort of rare new tapeworm debuff? o.o

I noticed that too, hunger seems much more aggressive than I'm used to while running and jumping. Regular walking seems normal though. Haven't tested the standing still hunger, but if you stand still hunger shouldn't go down in the slightest.

If you are on certain blocks, generally non-full blocks, the game registers you as moving. Some blocks, however, are bugged in smp and will consider you moving still. Such a block appears to be coal ore, as found out by Patchy.

Request for a small no holds barred world were everything goes save cheats, and you're fighting to survive/make sure no one else does?

I seem to remember there being concerns from some (not me) that more worlds = less playing together.

Ah, saw what you said in chat. Guess to add realism but adds a very negate connotation to the whole outlands in general. Like when I see someone I don't think "oh cool someone else" I think "Oh shit, someone else please don't kill me".

I used to think that when I saw someone on StTheo's last server, but on this server I'm pretty sure that while it's possible for someone to murder me, it's kind of frowned upon - the rules say "straight-up cold-blooded PvP-grief (ie. spawncamping, repeatedly hunting the same person) is severely frowned upon and will be dealt with on an individual basis", so I guess at least if the same person kills you more than once they have clearly broken the rules.

Regarding the map:

Any chance of it being available for outlands? If not what about no players presented on the map and just the map itself?

As Patch said, it doesn't seem like a good idea. Perhaps we could have a shared map created using Overworld Map, with the configuration files hosted on the T9K wiki so anyone who wants to add their location (or, say, a location of a nice biome) could put it there. Another option is to just have a map that you share with those you trust rather than making it public.

I wanted to build a floating island castle with drawbridge :( the void makes a very good moat ^_^

I suppose the reason you're not allowed to do these is the same reason that the rules for the T9K 1.0 server say you're not allowed to make "Unrealistic buildings (no supports, floating, etc)". I assume the reason is people don't like the look of them?

Alright. So you have some sort of anti-cheat diamond block breaking plugin. I found less than a stack of diamonds, using fortune 2, and its already stopping me from mining anymore. This is an absurd break limit. I only mined for a little bit and im at a halt.

-------------------X _ _ _ X _ _ _ X _ _ _ X
branch mining, X _ _ _ X _ _ _ X _ _ _ X pattern (X are mined blocks)

this is the pattern i was using. nothing exploitive

I waited the first minute, mined again. allowed me to break 1 more block, now it says 2 minutes. HOWEVER the 2 minutes never seems to stop, i can wait 5 or 10, and it still says wait 2 more. Wont let me break naymore diamond blocks.

After 15 minutes, the 2 minute warning seemd to fade. I broke 1 more block, now its at 5.

5 minutes? come on, this isn't anti-cheat, its anti-legit.

went offline for 30 minutes to have dinner, came back and broke 1 more block - says 3 minutes.

I hear some talk in game about it being changed to # of blocks allowed per hour.. and its gonna be less than 30 blocks.. that seems very very strict, soemone cheating could hit that in 3 seconds, legit players could hit that easily if they're lucky. Make it at least 64 guys.

The plugin requires tweaking from default settings. Worst case scenario, you may have to just wait a little while between mining trips. We are going to increase the number allowed per hour. We just needed to know by how much.

I wanted to build a bump/specularity map for Conquest and I was wondering if anyone has experience in creating normal maps, and not just throwing it in a program to do it for you.

I want to do things like make metal tools shimmer, the lock on a chest shine softly like metal, make ores react to torch light, etc.

If you've used GLSL shaders/Sonic Ether's shaders and Chroma Hills lately, you'll know what I mean.

Anyone game?

Time Lord Pyrhos, would you mind moving the columns out a little? It's hard to sprint through a 1 block wide gap without hitting the sides, which stops you sprinting.

Also I think this thing is kinda ugly, but then probably people think everything I build is ugly too so I can't throw stones :) It's just that cobblestone doesn't seem fitting for what looks to me like an expressway overpass. Have you considered using other materials? I might be able to donate some stone for the concrete look if you're interested.

please let people harvest at least 64 ORE blocks in an hour. I'd prefer 128 ore blocks personally because who knows when you're gonna get really lucky.

We're going to bump it up slowly until legitimate miners only rarely get the block - which only applies to diamonds and emeralds, I might add. 128 per hour is pretty damned close to impossible with legitimate mining. That's ores, not diamonds. It will be slightly inconvenient for a little while, I get that. Bear with us please while we prepare to go full-blown public.

i get its near impossible to legit mine 128 blocks an hour.. but at least we'd never legit hit the limit..

It's also pretty hard to xray that many ores in an hour. We'll increase it until legitimate miners only hit it every so often. Whether that's 64, more, or less remains to be seen.

Likely, from my experience (we started by lowballing the estimates), we'll end up with a "cap" of 96 ores, and a regeneration rate of 48/hour. Basically you get a number of points, 100 points allows you one diamond ore. As it stands right now (after your initial post), you gain 1200 points per hour, and that builds up to a cap of 3200. So you can mine 32 ores if your cap has been reached, and every hour you're online you gain the ability to mine 12 more. Again, this was an extreme lowball, it will likely end up increasing very quickly for the first little while.

Yes, sorry, I was meaning to fix that up, a lot. I just need to get materials. I'm thinking stone brick and spruce, but yea, I'll take it down. It was there for me to figure out where it would go, and forgot to remove it.

EDIT: It's been moved.

There's also a depth limit. Breaking diamond blocks above level 20 won't count against anything, since they had to be placed there by a player.
