You know what I find funny? People having huge bitchfits about same-sex marriage.

But I don't really see as many people wanting to outlaw non-christian marriages. Plenty of people get married that are buddhist, muslim, hindu, etc. No one's saying they can't get married because they're "sinners".

I care because I do not want them to go to hell.
This is exactly why I find the bible to be a bunch of bull.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a christian, but that book has been very corrupted by humans. At one point it says that hell is for satan and his demons only. Yet later it says it's for people that don't believe in him.

God is Love. Explain why he would send anyone to a permanent painful existence for such stupid reasons?

God doesn't want to send anyone to hell. That's what the bible says. Explain why he'd have to, then? He's fucking GOD, he can do whatever the crap he wants.

So they don't go to hell. Some of these homosexuals are Christians, but they live in sin. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, but they won't listen.
Well you admitted yourself that you can't change their opinion and ended the argument, now you say you can and starting up the argument again. Make up your mind, dammit!

1. Hell was originally for Satan and his demons, but since the fall (sin) humans have to go there.

2. Because it is in the Law. Any law God changes would be lying. Anyone who sins is condemned to death. God gave several warnings in Adam's and even Satan knew the consequences. Also, free will.
Interesting. So why aren't you Jewish, then?

Pretty sure there were some law changes.

And anyway, everyone knows all the cool people, the people that think for themselves, question their existance, throw the best parties, write the best books, and have the best conversation starters live in hell for all eternity.

So basically according to this our choice is to be boring forever in a fuzzy fluff world with a jerk being that makes no sense and hates... basically everyone. OR Go to a rather warm place full of, well, everyone, especially the awesome people. If I had a choice between hanging out with all the pious people in the world or all the makers of the Atomic Bomb, I choose the makers of the Atomic Bomb.

And hey, Satan's not evil, he just asked God "Lol, and why do I have to bow to this imperfect creation?". Pretty legit question if you ask me. I think he's probably a cool guy (lol as if he was real at all :D But just for the instance of this conversation... You get the idea)

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

It starts in the second account of creation... women were only created because Adam could not find a suitable wife (help meet) in the animals that God showed him. On top of being second string to cattle and sheep, women were created from a spare rib of a man. Woman needed man in order to exist. (Genesis 2:20-22)

Exodus 21:7-10 covers the rules of selling your daughter, her master making her marry him, and then her role if he wants more wives.

Exodus 22:16-17 - A man who sleeps with a virgin who is not married, he has to marry her But if her father refuses to give her to the man, then the man must pay the "pay money according to the dowry of virgins"

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 - If a man rapes a virgin, he must marry her and pay the father...

I'm quoting out of my ass a bit, I could pull plenty of stuff up to prove my point but how do any of these verses say that the bible does not acknowledge and promote the mistreatment of women.

Also, I don't hate Christians because of their beliefs, I'm just saying that the bible (Mainly The New Testament and some of the Old Testament) is a load of bullshit.

Wouldn't that be the Old Testament?

Eh, it applies to both, considering that you just can't take your religions texts and say "Nope, Old Testament is Irrelevant" and vice versa, I was just pointing out how the bible treats women.

And now, this is a religious debate.... /knuckle crack

Oh, how I've waited for this.

Look, here's my take on it. God doesn't care who sins or what they do. He looks at how the person handles the situation. If you handled it wrong, you'll know. We call this guilt, in the nonreligious world. God never plays a role, nor does he "guide" us, but rather helps us find the correct way as to what we should do. If you do something, and not feel bad about it, is it sin? The answer is no. Calling all homosexuals sinners isn't right. If they feel guilty about it, then, yes. They're likely doing something wrong, but if they don't, God doesn't give two shits. Here's proof. Does it not say in the Bible, "the word of the Lord", that God is in all of us? That he loves all of us equally, because we are all his children? This means homosexuals, too. God loves all of us, even if we sin.

Also, food for thought. Remember the whole thing with the Lamb? :D
Sheep are some of the gayest creatures on the planet. It's a known problem by farmers that 1 in 10 rams prefer other rams.
Look it up. :p

To clarify something, I'm not Christian. Hell, I'm not religious at all. However, I can see something that's been happening here. Each sides is obscuring parts of the Bible to better prove their point. This, in turn, is making both sides invalid, thus making using the Bible to prove your point invalid. :coffee:

Go ahead. Hate me for stating the obvious.

Basically, let's stop using the bible, a totally flawed and imperfect fabrication of a porportedly perfect and flawless book (like fake gucci! :D ), to prove anything, as that's like building a house on sand.

Correction, like building a house on sand in something other than minecraft xP

Well....

I'm not so sure with this. We should probably base our moral set on some kind of utilitarian model, modified of course to avoid the pitfalls there. I like to think of it that there's an index of morally "correct" acts based on their effect on increasing the overall quality of being of all people, with a strict minimum somewhere of what the minimum quality of being can be (above the poverty line somewhere). The interaction of these two should provide a cohesive and sensible moral set. :3

The result being.... that psychopaths are objectively in the wrong if they do that.

So if I am some psychopathic serial killer and have no remorse from harming and killing people and feel happy about it that would not be a sin?
Oh, sure, it would be a sin.
And no, I don't recommend doing so.

But if you want to go all Bible-ey on us, then may I point out perhaps the most relevant passage of all?
John 3:16.
John 3:16 said:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 said:
He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him
John 3:16 said:
Whoever believes in him
John 3:16 said:

Whoever. That means it's not mutually exclusive.

Sin is one thing. Sin is bad. But God's gift to his people was forgiveness for their sins.
I'd say that (arguably) the most important principle of Christianity is that we believe that God sacrificed his own son for us so we could enter Heaven.
Isn't the whole point of Christianity that although we sin, God forgives us?
That he really doesn't give a shit?

Fuck yeah, God's awesome. He know's you've fucked up. In part, that's his fault, 'cos he made ye. But that's okay, 'cos God don't mind.
God's chill.
You're still going to heaven.

So, with all due respect, fuck you, and have a nice day.
